I think that God let the israelites wonder lost around the desert ofr a reason; their punishment. The Israelites were being punished as well, so thay couldn't just "leave" moses, because they had nowhere to go. They couldn't go back to Egypt without being enslaved, and they didn't know exactly where the promise land was. So, they ended up wandering in circles for 40 years.

First of all, he didn't have a map. Second, it was a desert so not many people around to get directions from. Third, Moses was a man, so even when he came across people he never asked for directions.

thats why you arnt God. Moses was 'lost' in the desert because he was a wandering man and traveling a desert on foot isnt so easy. But God was with him all the way and provided him with water and food.

Moses was not lost. Jehovah kept the Israelites in the wilderness for 40 years as punishment for their not putting faith in Him to protect them from their enemies.

It wasn't just Moses, it was the whole nation of Israel. their wandering around in the desert was a punishment for not having faith in God and not obeying the 10 Commandments.

Yahweh smoted everyone who did. I don't see how there were that many followers left, he smoted damn near every one of them.
He was a real dick to his "chosen people". Why didnt he just go punish the Egyptians for not believing in him, rather than make those who did suffer so damn bad?

Maybe when the Bible says 40 years the time is exaggerated; oh forgive me for questioning this aspect of scripture.
