I'm 13 and my prescription is 4.25 and rapidly changing over the course of 3-6 months. I was just wondering about contacts because the price of glasses is REALLY REALLY EXPENSIVE! Please just give me info on you experiences with contacts. Thanks. ^-~

Acuvue is a brand of contacts that has a special contact lense for people with astigmatism. They are bit more expensive than regular contacts, but not by much. Wal-Mart has all of these and more at their optic centers. I know i got a whole year of contacts (b/c i purchase the ones that you throw away after a month) for less than $150. You can also get contacts that you wear for 6 months to a year and then purchase new ones. Im not sure which are more expensive. Tell your parents or guardian to take you to Wal Mart and they have a good selection

I wear contact lenses on a daily basis and I love them. And if you have a small astigmatism then you could get away with regular contact lenses which are relatively cheap. But if you have one higher than or lowenr than 1 diopter then you might have to get ones that are a little more expensive. Try out this website. It should help. Good Luck. P.S. Contacts make life easier.

At that age it is common for your prescription to change as you hit growth spurts. Contacts would probably be cheaper to replace than glasses if you bought only a 6 month supply at one time.

Contacts can be a good deal, depending on where you buy them (try Target or WalMart) and what kind you get. I use dalies, which are great because you throw them away at night and don't have to bother with cleaning them. I go to Target Optical to fill my Rx and it costs about $90 for 180 contacts.

Contacts are cheap! As long as you don't need special ones (like for astygmatism), then you can get them as cheap as $6 per pair. Just fill your Rx for one box for each eye and you can keep refilling it for one at a time if your Rx stays the same. I get mine at Wal-Mart, but if you buy a whole year's supply, you can probably find the lowest prices online.
