Is this what religious conservatism leads to?

This is a loaded question. I am not conservative but the latest abominations can hardly be blamed on religiosity or conservatism completely. America is the sum product of all the years of it's existence, whether liberal or conservative factions were in charge.

There are bad people everywhere.
Look at the opposite of religious conservatism. Maybe a Strip bar, or Drug house, would your children be safe there?
A few bad people that claim to be conservative and Religious do not represent all Religious people.
If your wife is alone and her car breaks down, would you rather her find herself in a Christian Community, or a non-Christian one?

You'll find immoral people everywhere. It does no good to make such statements about a particular group. The only reason it appears that there are more pedophiles in churches and the House of Representatives is that these are high profile areas. I'm sure quite a few pedophiles are carpenters, plumbers, electricians....It goes across the board.

You forgot the schools. Young women teachers are having sex with 12 and 14 year old boys in epidemic prportions around the world.
That man who went into the Denver school molested the girls.

I doubt that religion had anything to do with it. It continued because republicans in charge were afraid to make a stink and rock the boat. They knew about it. Everyone who voted for these jerks should write to them and hold them accountable for their actions...and then they should not vote for them again.
