My cat is a indoor cat and NEVER goes out side. She is my only cat and I am not getting anymore. I just want her fixed because I heard they calm down and it's healthier for the cat.

Call 1-800-spayUSA to locate a low-cost clinic near you. Clinics are sponsored by the Doris Day Foundation and are available nationwide.

If your cat had kittens, what would you do them? Drop them off in the woods somewhere to fend for themselves? Or take them to a shelter hoping they get adopted so they don't have to be put to sleep? The cat population is unbelievably high so, yes, you do need to have her spayed. Does it matter what the cost is? It's better to spend the money than to have to deal with unwanted kittens, isn't it? But if you're that concerned about it, all you have to do is call around to your local vets and ask how much the procedure is.

You can call your local Humane Society and they can probably provide you with the name and location of a low cost spay neuter clinic. I have been lucky enough to find a very cheap vet just right around the corner from my house. He neutered my male cat for $35 and spayed my female for around $70.

To help with the answers is the cat male or female? There was a big price difference between the two when I had mine fixed. But off the top of my head I can't remember the price.

Call your local humane society or animal shelter and ask them if there is a low cost spay-neuter program in your area. Sometimes humane societies sponsor them. Vets are fairly expensive, around $80 in my area and more in urban areas, but many of them will make payment arrangements or charge on a sliding scale. Call around and ask, and thank you for getting your pet spayed. She'll be a much better pet and you'll be so happy you did, it will be worth any amount you pay.
Good luck!

Call your local animal shelter to find out if they offer free or low cost neutering/spaying. I got my male cat fixed for a nickel. It was called, "Neuter Scooter for a Nickel." I did however also give a donation.

I paid about $75 for my female cat. But there are extras you might want to spring for like pain medications. I ended up spending about $125. With my first cat they gave me an oral pain med and she fought me taking it but it worked well. My 2nd cat they gave her a one time time release shot. She was really groggy and threw up a lot. I definitely recommend the oral medication.
