I had my credit card stolen this morning! I have cancelled the card but can anyone tell me - - I am going to New York in a few weeks and I booked tickets to see a show while im over there months ago. I have to bring the card with me to get the tickets. Will this still work as I will have a new card?? What do I do??

If you reserved your tickets with a Visa card, call: 800-VISA-911 and get a replacement as you will need the card. Call the airline as well to let them know what happened and they can also better direct you in advanced to protect your reservations.

Contact the company and tell them the situation. As a back up, get your credit card company to send you a letter in writing confirming the case that your card was stolen and had to be cancelled - the letter should obviously clearly show your previous card number.

I don't know but I hope it will work. I think it makes no difference which card you use to pay for the tickets. Perhaps it would make a difference if you provided the number of your former card when booking them. In any case, try to contact the booking office and let them know what has happened to you and inform them about the new card.

Show your police report that your old credit card got stolen.

Check your account online if possible and if the charge went through. Do not give them the new credit card number. (Print out that info and show them the statement-mark out your new card number)

If the charge didn't go through. Give them the new number and enjoy the show.

Take alternative identification and any correspondence from your credit card company that refers to your card being stolen. They will accept your new card but don't leave it until the night of the show as they may charge your old card early.

Take proof with you that your old card was stolen....a police report, letter from the credit company. It shouldn't be a problem as long as you have your ID and some sort of information. Good Luck and have fun !!!

You will still be able to use the same credit card, as it should be the same number on it. If you are worried, try emailing the company who you booked the tickets with and ask their advice. I am sure you will be fine though. Enjoy Newy York.
