My mum is a nurse and I was told this by her a few years back, it's impossible to yawn while sleeping. Yawing is caused by lack of oxygen to the body, the human body actually recieves more oxygen when it is at rest as it is not doing anything else to use this oxygen, so its impossible to yawn while asleep.
