why do we kill animals and think its ok?, i eat meat but then i dont beleive in god, if we left cows to there own devices and not 'managed' them i doubt they would take over the world and start eating us!,
every pet owner knows that there pet has a personality like a human, some shy, some loud, some aggresive etc.. a cow or pig or lamb is an animal and will display these types of traits.. why do christians not care about animals being murdered so long as they can eat there burgers?, also jesus ate fish as part of his diet.. did he apologise to the fish before he killed it as he was killing one of gods creatures?
i know im going to get answers like ' we need meat to survive' but in reality we do not.

a lot of christians will slaughter an animal, eat the flesh, wear the skin and not think twice.. in reality they are devouring one of gods creatures and prancing about in there skin.. as i say i am a meat eater and i enjoy it but i also do not beleive in god so it does not affect me.

First of all, just because we eat meat doesn't mean that we are committing murder. I'm Wicca by the way. But the concept about cows getting out of control isn't correct. Cows, the ones we eat anyway, are bred for that purpose. If we hadn't domesticated them for that purpose, if we hadn't put them on farms, encouraged breeding programs and such there wouldn't be so many of them. Actually if we took endangered species and put them on a menu, then they would be in a great breeding program and wouldn't be endangered. Chickens are the same way. Don't forget here too, that plants are living creatures too and we don't think twice about pulling a weed.
Now in the Bible when Adam and Eve were in the garden, God spoke directly to them (until original sin) and gave them control of all that was on the earth to do with as they pleased. He never took that away from mankind so thus we have steaks and salad.

How is this relevant and to what. I like burgers more than cows. Cows are hard to like they jump fences, not effecient meat makers, the only thing they have going for them is they taste good and My opinion is they taste best when fed cord. They provide many essential nutrients. Having a well balanced diet without meat is in fact difficult, my wifes a vegan, and it is not easy.
Yes they have personalities but most are not very likable, except when small.
Man has eyes in the front of his head so he is not created to eat many vegitables he was made to hunt for a moving target. God said let them eat meat and so I feel no regret to eat meat. I do however thank the animal and God b4 I eat.

Don't you have something better to do with your time.

I would agree that animals seem to have personality. In God's original design, man did not eat animals, only plants. In Genisis you would find the account of Adam and Eve. God gave them all the green plants and vegitation for food. Life would have been perfect if they did not screw up. They only had 1 rule to follow, now we have several and the world is corrupt. The account of Genisis would also reveal God's instructions to Noah after the flood when they were able to leave the Ark.

Genisis 9:2 "The fear and dread of you will fall upon all the beasts of the earth and all the birds of the air, upon every creature that moves along the ground, and upon all the fish of the sea; they are given into your hands. Everything that lives and moves will be food for you. Just as I gave you the green plants, I now give you everything."

These instructions to Noah were directly from God. The difference between humans and animals is evident. Humans have souls, animals don't. (your "personality" is not your soul). I will not even pretend that I know God's thoughts. I am not God. Just as I don't know why you don't believe in Him and I would not speculate on it.

The "food chain" is all part of God's design. I watched my cat catch a mole in our back yard yesterday. I heard the mole screech as the cat ripped it apart and devoured it. I really doubt my cat was contemplating the morals of eating that mole. He didn't care because that's what animals do. Did my cat do something wrong?

I remember hearing a story about a man who devoted his life to grizzly bears. He started spending time with them every day until he had become completely detached to mankind. He thought he had been taken in by the bears and felt like they were his true freinds. One day, one of the bears got hungry. The bear killed him, ripped him appart, and ate him. I dont' think that bear felt remorse for it either. Did the bear do something immoral to him?

Cows don't sit around chewing cud and pondering their existance. Animals don't apologize to other animals before they devour them. It's God's design of nature. God did not design a cow to just mow the grass, or a chicken to eat bugs. God created these creatures for many purposes.

Have you ever thought about why you are asking Christians questions? Why would you care what they think? I think you are intrugued by the faith of a Christian. I have noticed that most athiests tend to be very aggressive against people of faith. Why? Does it benifit them to try to discredit Christians? No. I believe people who don't believe in God and that are aggressive toward Christians really have an internal conflict. They are trying to discredit the Christian faith to make themselves feel better about the decision they have made. After all, it is the most important decision anyone can make. You are chancing the odds that there is no life after death. If there is an eternal life after death, are you willing to risk this brief existance on the chance that you know the truth? What evidence do you have to prove your theory that there is no such person as God? I can walk the streets of cities of the Bible. I can read of historical accounts (verified by archioligists and historians) of a man who changed the world forever.

If you are truly sceptacle of Chrisitanity, why don't you check them out. Go to a church for a while. Sit in the back row. Read the Bible just in case. Try to know everything they believe and why. Then you can make an informed decision as to whiether or not there is a God. You have a lot to gain and nothing to lose either way. If it is a hoax, go on with life knowing that you are right and they are all a bunch of nutcases. You can feel better about being an athiest and know for sure that your decisions bear no eternal consiquences in this life.

I would be glad to help you answer any additional questions you might have. I don't know it all, but I have made my informed decision and I am confident in it, I bet my life.

you never noticed many animals eat eachother?

But it wasnt always that way. Originally man and animals did not eat eachother, they ate plants and seeds and there was no death in the world

the first person to kill an animal in a sense was God, He made a covering for Adam and Eve after they sinned.

Death, animals eating animals, are reminders of the sin of man and the consequences it brought not just the pain and suffering to eachother but to the innocent animals

God allowed man to eat animals, saying I have given you all things to eat to Noah, yes even hot dogs made of all things.
And death is a reminder of the deep problem sin is alienating us from God in a sin cursed broken world.

God himself entered into the curse of death, wearing the crown of thornes which grew because of Adams sin and redeemed a peole for Himself and someday there will be no suffering pain or death and every tear will be wiped away by the hand of God.

What a two-faced question! Essentially what you are saying is, "All life is sacred." a belief that sounds like a Hindu premise.

Originally man did not eat meat.

And God said, "Look! I have given you the seed-bearing plants throughout the earth and all the fruit trees for your food. And I have given all the grasses and other green plants to the animals and birds for their food." And so it was.
Genesis 1:29,30

After the flood, he was given permission to eat certain meats.

God blessed Noah and his sons and told them, "Multiply and fill the earth. All the wild animals, large and small, and all the birds and fish will be afraid of you. I have placed them in your power. I have given them to you for food, just as I have given you grain and vegetables. But you must never eat animals that still have their lifeblood in them. And murder is forbidden. Animals that kill people must die, and any person who murders must be killed.
Genesis 9:1-5

Yes, animals have personality because of the soul within them. Men also have a God given spirit within them. That is the difference between mankind and the animal realm. Man is spirit, soul, and body; the image of God.

The next verse in Genesis confirms this: Yes, you must execute anyone who murders another person, for to kill a person is to kill a living being made in God's image.

God gave us animals to eat. Killing an animal for food is not wrong nor a sin. Killing for fun is wrong and I oppose that greatly. When God had to clothe Adam and Eve He had to kill an animal - just how it goes. I love animals. I have lived on a farm even and had lots of pets.

God gave us doninion over the animals to take care of and use for food there fore it is not a problem at all. If they are killed for fun then yes I believe that is wrong. If a deer or moose or elk hunter hunts for the big rack instead of meat for the family then I do not believeGod smiles on that or approves of it.

I do not think it is against God's will for us to kill animals and eat them, as long as it is done with respect to the creatures created by God.

There is a big difference between killing an animal so you can display it's head over your fireplace and killing an animal thay you intend to feed yourself and your family. Killing should never be a sport.

After Noah's flood, God said to eat meat. For Adam and Eve, God made clothing for them from the animal skin. I, as a Christian, see no problems, but don't torture animals.

God gave us dominion over animals. Thats in the bible. My husband is a hunter and I use to think that was so cruel. We have so many deer now that they are starving cause of lack of food for them. They are getting closer to the roads instead of staying in the woods. We alone have hit 5 deer with our one car. So if you dont want to eat meat thats fine with me, but as for our household we will. God has nothing aganist anyone eating meat.
