The public places that are reported to be haunted are sometimes the least likey places to see a ghost. Most of my ghostly encounters have been in places that I have lived in or visit frequently. My expereince is that ghosts reveal themselves to who they want and when they want.

I spent quite a while as being very interested in this sort of material, and did have a weird exoerience when i was a child. I was in a car with my mother and father, driving along a road in deepest darkest norfolk, (Gt Witchingham, Lakenham sort of area) when we became lost and we ended up on a very narrow straight road with highly banked sides and trees growing over head, the effect was a tunnel. when this piece of dense mist appeared to leap from the top of one bank to the other, like a horse or a deer, but it was ethereal. basically because of the distance about 12' between the banks the dense hedging on the top, and the mistlessness of the night we have been at a loss to explain it. we are also sure it was not an owl, as we have seen owls frequently. suffice to say as soon as it occured we were all left very unnerved.
I also have a lot of friends who have experienced occurences, in Norfolk of varying types. including one guy who had a haunted flat, the ghost was a strange black figure with a tendency towards violence, he would trap my friends girl friends in the toilet by moving heavy things across the door, my friend decided he had enough after a strange black figure was seen in his flat by a passerby who called the police, and there was a loud crack in the night and he discovered that a vase had been moved when he picked it up to return it he discovered that it had been sheared in 2 through the middle. but that the contents where fine.
another friend had a flat that was haunted, and suffered weird electrical disturbences and poltergiest activity. she would find things out of place or stuff would go missing and reappear, then the TV would play up, the channel would be unchangable, then it would flick to static, then if she unplugged it it wouldnt turn off, even allowing for the resistors to cool down, on that occassion she left it a couple of minutes when it was still going and she was holding the plug and it wasnt in the wall she decided she was really scared and left the house to stay with a friend for a couple of days.
there were several other occurences but I wont bore you with them here!

There is a place in SW Missouri that has a place called, the Spook Light. It is an unexplained light that appears in the woods and crosses the road. It is about the size of a basketball and very bright. If you walk toward it, it will move away. It is very strange will lots of folklore around it, there use to be a store close by that had all the articles from hundreds of newspapers concerning the Spook Light. It will differently make the hair on the back of your neck stand up when you see it.

My father's house. It was vacant for 20 years and rumored to be haunted. My father did not believe the rumors and bought it real cheap. It took me 12 years but I was able to figure out the history and what type of spirit was there. Since then, it is as if the spirit was released.

Yes I have been to dozens. I was raised in New England and took every opportunity I had to explore haunted houses.
I never once saw a ghost, or phenomena related to supernatural activity.. Which is strange because I used to be a very spiritual person in my younger years.

We have been a lot of places and done a lot of things. Out of ALL of the places we feel that Bobby Mackey's Music World in Wilder Kentucky has the most activity. I personally recommend something a little less active for a 'first-timer'. Best of luck and welcome to the world of the paranormal.

Yes, I have and I have seen some strang things happen too! This is in my town. . .
February, 1990
The Antique Traveler Newspaper

Slamming doors, knocking walls, pianos playing, clocks chiming, blue glowing lights, flying coffee cups, and cold spots are just a few of the strange happenings at CATFISH PLANTATION RESTAURANT ,814 Water Street, in the historic town of Waxahachie, Texas.
"Don't be afraid," said proprietors Tom and Melissa Baker, "these are just a few of the antics our three resident ghosts use to let us know they are still around. They like to play just like Casper does, said Melissa.
Shortly after opening for business strange and unexplainable events began happening. Upon entering one morning, Melissa found clean coffee cups stacked inside the large tea urn that had been mysteriously placed in the floor. Several weeks later a fresh pot of coffee was awaiting her arrival. She had the only key. Over a short period of time employees began telling Torn and Melissa of their unexplainable experiences. "We had a cook that experienced levitating baskets out of the deep fryer," stated Melissa. "That was one of the most unusual happenings." Another employee left one night after work and came back later to get her car. A blue light was glowing from the windows. She and her friend watched the lights for about an hour. Melissa said that approximately 75 percent of their employees have experienced some kind of strange activity.
One October morning in 1987 Melissa was listening to a Dallas radio station, KLIF, Kevin McCarthy's talk show. The topic that particular day was supernatural occurrences. She was inspired to call into the talk show. Her curiosity was satisfied when a parapsychologist called into the talk show with a reply for her. "Yes," he answered, "a spirit or ghost can do these things. Have a professional come out and test your establishment," he said. That solution sounded too expensive and besides, who do you call, Ghostbusters? Tom thought, "Who believes in Ghosts?" Two weeks later, a Dwanna Paul, a parapsychologist, telephoned the restaurant and inquired as to the activity the Bakers were having. She said what Melissa had described were the signs of a classic haunting.
Parapsychology is the field of study concerned with the investigation of evidence for para-normal (supernatural) psychological phenomena. Dwanna's specialty is Haunt Hunting. She is a Ghostbuster (And you thought Ghostbusters was just a comedy movie.) Dwanna convinced the Bakers to have their restaurant tested at no charge, strictly for the research and experimentation. They did not know what to expect, but agreed to try it. A date was set for after hours when the crew could come in and set up their sensitive sounding equipment, laser light beams, thermometer gauges, and infrared cameras. The crew, consisting of businessmen, engineers, scientists, photographers and two representatives from the University of Texas at Austin using a combination of science and psychic ability established that Catfish Plantation was inhabited by three spirits. After five investigative meetings and long hours of work, the general consensus of Ms. Paul and her crew was that the ghosts were two females and one male. Elizabeth died on her wedding day in 1920; Caroline died in the 7O's and a farmer named Will. The rest was up to the Bakers ...to research the history of 814 Water Street.
Being busy enough with running a business and taking care of a family, the Bakers put this on hold until August 1988 when D Magazine contacted them wanting to do a story on the ghosts and offered to do their own investigation. They did, indeed, find three past residents of 814 Water Street, who were named Elizabeth, Caroline, and Will.
Melissa Baker explained that the ghostly experiences do not occur on a daily basis and are not scary or frightening. In fact, Catfish Plantation is a very pleasant place. There are three dining rooms with wood burning fireplaces and each room is attractively decorated with antiques. The atmosphere of the cottage is charming with or without its resident ghosts, and, the catfish is superb. The town of Waxahachie is perhaps the most beautiful Victorian township in this region with the largest number of historic homes on the national and state register than any other town in Texas. So, don't let a few ghosts keep you away from a delightful dinner at Catfish Plantation Restaurant and a scenic drive through historic Waxahachie.
