This one is for the ladies: What do you think guys are really up to when they are constantly telling you that there are things you wouldn't want to know about them when you are only trying to get to know them?

Thanks for all the answers so far. I'm not asking about what you think of my situation. I want to know about you. How do you feel or react when a guy says he is afraid to tell you something. For example when I am just getting to know a guy and he tells me up front that he doesn't want to get married... mind you we haven't even had a date... I instantly feel a little disappointed even if I wasn't even looking at him that way. I think anything that begins with " I don't think you want to hear this but..." is just an excuse he is making because he doesn't have the nerve to just say he isn't interested. What do you think?

If a man I was dating kept avoiding answering questions about himself, I would wonder what he was hiding. If it's something so horrible that even he won't admit to it, then I would probably run as fast as I could, in the opposite direction of where he is standing. He may just be trying to show off, and trying to make himself look like a macho stud, but when I hear things like that, I think druggie, felon, abuser, etc... It's not a good image that comes to mind.

Could be 1 of 2 things. Either he's really serious and you don't really wont to know what he has in his closet. R he's just trying to act hard and impress you. Most men seem to think if there a tough guy that you'll like them more. U know the bad boy kind of thing some chicks are into. But that's my best guess.

Well you know we all have our closets full of things we dont want other people to know and of course a guy always wants to put his best foot forward and not tell the ugly things because it could make the girl run.

maybe you really dont want to know what he is not telling you, but maybe you do. just be carful what you wish for. i dont kno the whole situation or him, but when and if he does tell you those secrets listen to him and if it is someting that is a big deal to him, you need to listen to him.

trying to be misterious i think,,make out you are more than you really are but dont offer to tell,,its a win win situation for him .
