I love flan lol.

Before preparing put the oven to medium heat

For the Flan you will need:
8 egg yolks
2.5 cups of evaporated milk
2.5 cups of sweetened condensed milk
1 teaspoon of vanilla

For the Caramel you will need:
1/2 cup white sugar
1/2 cup water

To Prepare:

1.Melt sugar in heavy saucepan over low heat. Add water and stir constantly until a thick, dark caramel syrup forms. Pour carefully into prepared baking pan and spread all over.

2. Mix together egg yolks, sweetened condensed milk and evaporated milk. Stir in vanilla or other flavoring (almond works well also). Pour carefully into baking pan, trying not to disturb the caramel layer. Bake in hot water bath in oven for one hour or until knife inserted in center comes out clean.

3. Loosen edges of flan, place a serving plate on top of mold (one which will retain the syrup) and invert. Chill thoroughly before serving.

Good Luck and enjoy!

Flan is an excessively general Andalusian dessert. Sorta been Americanized to the factor of being defined as Creme Caramel. It's honestly so a lot more. Although this does not sound like a lot, it very nearly is composed of condensed and evaporated milk and baked in a pie dish. Ho-hum. But the creamy caramel sauce over the silky custard; good, yum. Perhaps serve it with a glass of sangria.

INGREDIENTS:
1 1/2 cups white sugar
1 (14 ounce) can sweetened condensed milk
1 (12 fluid ounce) can evaporated milk
1/2 cup milk
6 eggs
1/2 cup fresh shredded coconut

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

DIRECTIONS:
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
Place 1 cup of the sugar in a small saucepan over medium heat. Cook gently, without stirring, but shaking occasionally until the sugar has melted. Continue cooking until the sugar has completely melted, and turned golden brown. Pour into a large, glass baking dish. Spread the caramel evenly over the bottom of the dish, then set aside to cool for 15 minutes before proceeding.
Once the caramel has hardened, pour the condensed milk, evaporated milk, milk, eggs, 1/2 cup sugar, and coconut into a blender. Blend for 3 minutes until smooth. Pour into baking dish over the caramel.
Bake in preheated oven for 45 minutes until set. When done, remove from oven and let cool for 30 minutes. Run a knife around the edges of the dish to separate the flan from the sides. Refrigerate overnight.
