By this is mean that since terroism has come onto the news, a lot of people have started to treat Muslims differently.
This is from my point of view, I'm a Muslim
Becasue i had loads of British mates, and since the terrorism attacks, none of them have actually came up and talked to me properly at all, they've mostly just kinda talked as if i was a bomb waiting to go off.

firstly i am a Muslim, and alot of you are asking why Muslims dont step up to stop it all
Well firstly some people would call us ( the people that have stood up) white ( swearword) okay, and another thing is that i want to show everyone that i am against terrorism, and so are mt family, but where do we go to do this, and how?
another backdrop is how others have parted from us, cos i was talking to a British woman who was talking to me about how things have changed alot since the towers went down, but how does anyone know that it was Osama, proof is needed
And no, we are not trying to get everyone to convert into Islam, you are the religion you are wanting to be, so if your Chritian i dont care, i respect that fact, like i respect the religion of every other country
Thankyou

Not everyone is painting all Muslims with the same brush. I don't. I'm a Christian, but I own two different translations of the Koran, and I have respect for Muslims.
MY only problem with the Muslims is this: I don't feel that the Muslim community as a whole denounces the terrorists nearly as much as they should. Many of the Muslim countries have been hijacked by extremists, who are indoctrinating a new generation of terrorists as I type, and yet the Muslims do NOTHING.
It's rather ironic, because the Christians have denounced that group that protest military funerals, and the people who bomb abortion clinics.
I am sorry that your friends treat you differently now. But really, it's no wonder. The extremists are destroying the Middle East. Amazing countries like Afghanistan, Iran, Iraq, and Pakistan have all fallen victim (or did in the past) to extremists like the Taliban.
Encourage your brothers and sisters to publicly denounce the terrorists, and join in on hunting them down and destroying them.
This is what President Bush meant when he said that you're either with us or against us. With terrorism, there is no place for neutrality...and unfortunately, that seems to be the way that your brothers and sisters have chosen.

To the Muslim mouth-breather who claims Timothy McVeigh and the School shooters were Christians:

You know, with prejudice like that, you're no better than those that call all Muslims terrorists. Why is it okay for YOU to make claims like that but no one else? Where is your PROOF those people were Christians? You say so because they are from the USA. You fail to recognize that the US is made up of many different religions...Muslims included.

Once again, the spotlight is taken off the people RESPONSIBLE for doing these terrible deeds and put on the Americans. We didn't ask for this crap to happen, yet it's forced down our throats daily.

Well, a couple of reasons.

1. All terrorists attacks have been caused by Muslims

2. Not many Muslims really seem sorry for the attacks. They seem to have the "not my fault" mentality. Instead, you guys should try to clear your name by helping us find these a**holes.

3. Many Muslims danced in the street after 9/11. That is very hard to forget.

4. I know most of you guys are OK, but it is hard to believe you preach peace and love when your brothers are blowing each other up. If you could help us find these terrorists, and stop the spread of radical Islam, it would clear your name and people would no longer fear you.

5. Wear a shirt with an American(or British) flag and just act really patriotic. I promise, no one will question you anymore.

It's hard to know who to trust these days, especially amongst the Muslim community. The threat of cells laying in wait, is the biggest concern amongst the population of ordinary citizens.

Your best bet, is to bite the bullet for now. There isn't much you can do to relieve this suspicion, so my suggestion is, to chill. Try to be understanding of those who have distanced themselves from you, but at the same time let them know that you value their friendship. A greeting card just might do the trick!

Let these people know that you are caught in the middle. You are not a terrorist, but you are a Muslim. For that you do not apologize, but you do sympathize with what they are going through. Hopefully, they will respond to your message. There's an old adage: "You get more bees with honey, than with vinegar."

Well I am sorry that has happened to you.... I have alot of Muslim friends.... and I am in the US Army. Not every Muslim is a terrorist..... the difference is called prejudice.

Being intelligent is knowing the difference between a Muslim and a terrorist or insurgent.

I even have friends in Iraq and Kuwait. They are great people who treated me like family when I was there with them.... they are kinda like family. Part of the problem is that people tend to believe everything they read and hear in the news.

I have Muslim friends...Muslim friends that I consider to be my best friends. I've even dated a Muslim girl (she wasn't strict with her religion). With that said...

Have you ever looked at the pictures of who is committing these terrorist acts!?!? They are all Muslim. Now wouldn't you racially profile if you knew that only one race was committing horrible acts!?!? Yes, you would. Of course you can argue "no i wouldn't because its only a small part of the population that is doing it." I hate to say it but...be mad at those that are Muslim that are creating the problem, not those racially profiling for VALID reasons. If you keep seeing pit bulls bite peoples arms off...and thousands of people have had their arms bitten off that you know of...you are not going to go pet a bit pull. That is an extreme exaggerated example but it applies here in this situation.

Now as for your friends...that's ridiculous. Maybe you should re-evaluate those you consider friends. If they know you personally they should know that you are/aren't a terrorist.

The poster before me is absurd. Bush has nothing to do with the worlds vision on terrorists. I'm not saying the war is right by any means...but the US/other countries have a negative view of Muslims because 10% (not exact, just a small percent though) of the Muslim population is extremely violent and hates other people...not because we are "at war."

man, not many muslims on this site... you can tell by the answers,
FIY: no good german stopped hitler because a good individual is not as strong as hitler..... many "good" jews got killed because everyone else joined the band wagon back then in th haulocost.
many 'good' muslims get treated differently because all the "terrorised" nations have joined the band wagon and BTW who are terrorists? where is the terror? who is under threat....? WHERE IS THE EVIDENCE??????????????
Mind you theres no need to investigate who bombed lebanon over and over again..... even during cease fire.... yet the islam are stil the terrorists..... MY ANSWER..... ppl are so naive!

AND......'good' muslims will help stop the terrorists as soon as you guys aknowlegde that good muslims are the majority, BTW WHERE IS THE REAL EVIDENCE THAT MUSLIMS ARE THE TERRORISTS? thats right the government would rather spend 6.1million dollars investigating bill clintons affair.... compared to a budget for total clean up and investigation of less than quarter of a million....... so is it due time to show the proof or is the world still waitin......

Its the same as saying all Americans are ignorant and uninformed .....its not true but on the surface and by how the media portrays them its what the world sees.

Blame a biased US media conforming to a government agenda ,America always needs an enemy so badly to rally the apathetic people and for the moment its Muslims

"The whole aim of practical politics is to keep the populace in a continual state of alarm (and hence clamorous to be led to safety) by menacing them with an endless series of hobgoblins, all of them imaginary."

It's certainly a lot more than 'a couple.' I think people will start to respect Muslims when they stand up and denounce terrorists and terrorism, but I haven't seen or heard even one doing that. All we see are them screaming for Westerners to be killed. Look at the overreaction to the Pope's recent speech, and the killing of an innocent nun, not to mention all the terrorist attacks and beheading of hostages.

" A Couple of Terrorists " Try thousands !
Why don`t the " Good " Muslims put a stop to their efforts .
Would fear be a factor ? No German ever stopped Hitler because of what could happen to them and their families .
I`m sure the terror network is being shielded by those who want to live .
