There have been 3 fatal school shootings in the past week. In two of these, the shooter was an adult who entered the school. There have been several more in the past year..
What is going on???? Do you get nervous sending your kids off to school?

My heart breaks for the children and families. I have a daughter who is a freshman in high school, she has been through a scare like this in elementary school (that guy didn't get in)

icheeknows - I had never even thought about the military in the schools - I don't think that is the answer to this, either.

arewethereyet - homeschooling is an alternative, and I have seen homeschool children who do wonderfully. I don't homeschool though - I don't have the discipline - we'd be all field trips and no book work.

Jeanne - I think that is a bit simplistic to say that teaching evolution causes a man to walk in, tie little girls up and shoot them.
And you are jumping to conclusions about who I am and what my beliefs are.

The Messianic Cow - Perhaps it's because he hated God that he did it, and if he loved God he wouldn't have..........

I wish I knew, what do you think will stop it? My heart goes out to every one who lost their precious children, I worry everyday that it will happen here.

I am sure I can find someone here to tell us it is a sign of the end of days. I think however with more and more people getting screwed over in a society that seems to value that, sooner or later someone will snap and a school is an easy target with undefended children to go after. I live just a few miles from the latest shootings and it is indeed sad, but I think were anyone willing to delve far enough into the shooter's past you would find he felt wronged by society as a whole.

Yes. Its not just adults going into schools either the violence between children is escalating. Teachers are afraid to confront the ringlleaders and you end up with what happened in Columbine, or what has happened in the last week. I dont see it ever ending it is just going to get worse. Now the kids get a kick out of videoing what they are doing so they can watch it again later.. how long til they are videoing killings.

The bad guys prefer unarmed victims!!.
When seconds matter calling 911 and asking the bad guy to wait is not a viable option.

Better to have a gun and not need it than to need it and not have it!!!
**Police do not protect you from crime, they usually just investigate the crime after it happens.**

So you are against the private ownerships of gun! Do you believe in fire extinguishers? Why, you can always call the fire department!!

No Weapons Allowed
Criminals this is a defense free zone
All law abiding people have been disarmed for you

All of the doors to my daughters school are locked during school hours, save one, the main door. There is a police officer who stays there for most of the day and another in the parking lot in a squad car. I am more worried by the fact that this is neccesary than by the idea of a man coming in and shooting kids.

No, not really, God is in control, these things have been prophesied
2Ti 3:1 ¶ This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come.

2Ti 3:2 For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy,

2Ti 3:3 Without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good,

2Ti 3:4 Traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God;

2Ti 3:5 Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away.

2Ti 3:6 For of this sort are they which creep into houses, and lead captive silly women laden with sins, led away with divers lusts,

2Ti 3:7 Ever learning, and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth.

Seems interesting that they almost always involve religion in same way. The latest one 'hated god' and an Amish school. Maybe religious nutjobs should be locked up instead of aloud to run free and vote.

yes, everyday I feel like I am sending my children to a war zone!
the government says that we have to send them, yet offer very little protection and it hardly seems right. my daughter and son are in high school, and I pray for their safety everyday. it's sad that we can't send our children to school without having to worry about some nutcase hurting or killing them. but it will stay this way until parents DEMAND security and safety from the school system.

No marvel. Law: the ministration of death.
Some adults are awful lawful these days.
Could have somethin to do with churches.
Churches need an EXTREME make-over.
Churches of Galatia: "foolish", "bewitched".

Pst- only an adult can commit "adult-ery".
Perhaps adultery: adults whoring with law;
After claiming they are espoused to grace.

GWB: I'll take my 'rule of law' global now.
(notably boasted, at his 'second coming')
BIBLE: whether prophecies they shall fail.

Man healed, later found in temple, told:
Go(learn) and sin(law) no more. Why?
Lest a "worse"-end thing happen to man.
Worse: seven other spirits more wicked.
Pst- Revelation mentions "seven spirits".
So: Revelation a "worse"-case scenario.
Worse scenario: Law thought of as Divine.
Worse case: John turns, to law behind him.

Problem: Law a ministration of death.
Solution: Christ: is the end of the law.
(Pst- that's "Christ" of Jesus->Christ)
("through" J->C notably ends with "C")

Or: draw "back" to "worst"<-worse<-bad.
Worst: "all perish" by using of ordinances.
All perish: kinda dinosaur-ish, old & faulty.

Let's not even go there, to come Lord Jesus.
(Son of man: Noah-ic & Sodom-ic Destroyer)
Let's go on to perfection, where "none perish":

The GRACE of our Lord Jesus Christ with you all. Amen.

I don't think home-schooling (as one answer suggested) is necessarily the correct thing to do. Unfortunately, we have to furnish our children with the information that people can be mentally disturbed and give them the tools to handle it.

It's not fair, our children should be able to remain innocent for as long as possible, but that's life. Sometimes it's harsh, but we do the best we can and let God handle the rest.
