I think the sleepy affect caused by an orgasm is because it releases something similar to the "cuddle effect", which makes us feel comforted. No idea where I heard that but I know it this was mentioned somewhere recently.
There is also the explanation that any adrenalin produced by the body during ~what ever~ brought about the orgasm, will seep back into the blood stream & have a naturally tiring affect.

Actually; effects people in different ways. I personally feel a bit of tightness in my muscles but can keep going for a few more rounds; while I know that some of my male friends feel like collapsing afterwards; it all depends on your stamina. The same is also true of women; I'll admit most women can go for longer then men, but I've been with a few women who struggle past the first time.
