The world has a narrow minded approach to this question. If you were to be served by a person likely to be overweight you wouldn't give so much attention to conversation but if it was a person that could have been a model the conversation would most likely be longer than just confirming your appointment. This is actually the wrong impression to the world because it is not the weight of the person doing the work but the personality of the person. So come on guys and girls we all need to make the world tick and have to work together in order not to discriminate. Ask yourself this question : Would you like it if people only talked to you because of the nice body instead of the personality inside it.

Congrats! On the weight loss i mean. not the face part. Well I agree with Ang. If there are other parts of your body that you want to lose weight, continue you amazing weight loss routine! But don't try to become stick skinny. You need to have a proportional body. Being really skinny doesn't look good if your body doesn't look proportional. Your face should match your body soon. Don't worry too much about it. It didn't get chubbier; you're just not used to see your original face with your new body. Drink a lot of water and eat apples and other fruits. They're supposed to give you really nice skin and make your face look more lean. I hope that helps. Good luck! damn Inescia wrote a lot! actually she just copied and pasted from another website...........w/e

I think only men would want to be 'served' by a good looking slim blond. Women are not that shallow, although women do like a nice looking bloke (who wouldn't take up a job like that anyway). So women don't really care whether it is a fat or a thin person serving them as long as they are polite and kind they are ok.

If someone does the job properly then it doesn't matter what they look like.
Your idea of attractive is obviously very different to mine if attractive to you has to be slim??
Personally I prefer big men with bald heads! and would far rather have a fat man than a skinny one!!
I think you should examine your perceptions, you seem to have totally bought into the media examples of attractive, i.e models bordering on anorexia!

I feel that it is knowledge, personality, and commitment to your job that matters, not the size of a person. It matters not, what size, colour or religion. I like to be served in shops, banks, or any other establishment dealing with the public, in a courteous and polite manner. That is what matters.

Depends on the establishment in which they're working. It's all about image, and what message the bar/restaurant, cafe etc... want to portray. Overweight people are discriminated far to much in every walk of life. As far as equal opportunity's, why shouldn't they be given equal rights, just because they don't conform to the stereotypical image perpetuated by the media.

Roxy is right. As long as they're helpful and their full attention is on you, then it doesn't matter what size they are. If someone is selfconscious about their weight, they probably shouldn't apply for a job where they are going to have hundreds of people look at them every day.

All I want out of customer service people is that they are polite and helpful and give me the information I require without continuing to have a conversation about last night's soap with their colleague.

i think fat people working in food shops, bakers etc is great as it sends the signals that the products they sell are good, however a fat person working as an instructor in a gymn sends perhaps the wrong signals.........i think. i wonder what type of person should work behind a bar? a red eyed, unkemt, unhygenic, bloated, skint loser would suit best i shouldn't wonder
