Have you ever felt a connection with someone you never met in person?

Absolutely my dear.

Back when Yahoo! Chat first started it was an interesting way to meet new people. I had used IRC before but this was a way to meet more people.

I did have one policy though while chatting and that was keep it real. That was back in 1996 or so but i did make some friends (modern day pen pals i assume you could call them) and kept in communication with them for sometime.

There was one in particular who lived in North Carolina. She was a recently divorced mom and i was a recently divorced dad. We started talking and getting to know each other. We sent pictures of ourselves via e-mail (okay not those kinds of pictures) and kept in touch via IM. She had redhair which i liked at the time (short) and was a very simple plain spoken woman just 2 years younger than i.

At any rate our conversations became tinged with romance and then i asked if she had any new pictures as the ones she sent were from friends weddings and so forth. She sent me some pics of herself nude. I didn't expect that but she told me that i made her feel beautiful and cared about and that she wanted to give me that. naturally i suggested we meet somewhere in public and she could bring a friend so then we met and had a very romantic weekend. I'll end the story there if you want to know more you'll have to e-mail me.

So yes in a chat room or via e-mail or even texting you can develop a bond or friendship with someone although they maybe far away of course you should take precautions and be wary. There is the comfort in the face to face but it's quite difficult to tell if the person you have not met in person is the person they say they are. (sounded like something Captain Jack would say...)

Yes, I have felt connected to a person and I never have met them before...The person I feel connected to and feel like I could just sit down and have a chat with, with no problems is, Oprah Winfrey...I have never laid eyes on the woman in person, only on T.V.. That is my ultimate desire, and that is to meet Oprah and chat with her..

extremely one, whom I related with over 9 years in the past on line and function met in many situations for the final 8 years. a pair others with whom I generally e mail and chat on the telephone. they're great buddies.
