Chocolate will "freeze" if you don't add enough liquid while melting it. If you add some more coffee or brandy, it should loosen up. Go to www.foodtv.com and look up the show "Good Eats". They just did a show on chocolate and this very topic was discussed. Good Luck!

Either make sure the coffee and brandy are warm before adding or just add them very slowly while the chocolate is still on the heat!

The brandy is the culprit. The brandy had a high alcohol content, hence it evaporated quickly enough to cool the melted chocolate sufficiently.
You have to switch to a brand of brandy that has lower alcohol content.

Well it depends on the type of chocolate you were using. Usually you melt the choc in a bain marie/double boiler and add your mix at about the same temp. If you allow the choc to get too hot it will start to crystalize and then you might as well start again...

You can add some butter or oil to help with this. All ingredients should be added slowly to the melted chocolate. While adding the ingredients slowy, add small amounts of butter or oil to help keep everything smooth and liquid.
