We stay at home since this is where our extended family is. We split the time between my parents and my in-laws over Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. My Mother-in-law makes the traditional dinner and my Mother makes a buffet. On the afternoon of Christmas Day we then have to take our kids (my stepsons) to their Mother's for the remainder of the holidays (Christmas Day to New Year's Day). As far as presents, we open them with my In-laws on Christmas Eve and with my parents on Christmas morning.

I used to hate xmas, it was allways open presents early, eat dinner and watch my folks get hammered...but...now i have kids myself we:
stay at home and invite as many of the family that we can over, open presents together after dinner (the kids get small presents they can open in the morning, but we save the major presents till later)...
as for food, we do the traditional turkey, but also cook a ham the day before and have a joint of beef aswell...far to much food, but hey, its only once a year...

We all went to Florida a couple of years ago and the weather was cr*p so we would have been better off at home.
It didnt stop us having a party though and us all getting "Hammered"
