Hey everyone. My grandpa has been in the hospital for the last 6-months. He has dimentia, and his mind is fading away, little by little, everyday. I love him to death and can't stand the people who care for him torture him anymore. I pray that the lord will end his misery and take him to heaven, to live in peace. I know the lord will take when he does. What do you think?

By the way, i don not want to kill him. I want him to be peaceful. He knows that he is losing his mind. It's tearing me apart.

I agree with voluntary euthenasia and if I was terminally ill, in pain, or degenerating mentally I would prefer death earlier rather than later. But unless your grandfather made it clear that he wanted the same, you have no right to be the judge. To kill someone without consent is murder. You must hope that he is receiving the best palliative care and pain relief possible, and await a peaceful, and natural, end to his troubles.

I don't know what kind of relationship you had with your Grandpa, But let God take control & let God call him home when it is his time. Life support is OK. But then That should be only for a short time. I learned that lession in 1989. My first wife of almost 22 yrs. laid in ICU for 304 days with her intestines hanging out, She was on life support from Jan. 30 through Nov.29, 1989. It is a very hard decisin to make, But My wife ask me to do all that I can do to keep her alive, You will never know the pain & anguish I went through, at the end the only thing that was keeping her alive was a respirator, Pacemaker, & they was going to try to do Kidney diagloius. My wife was only 37 yrs. Old. Now I have remarried, To a wonderful wife that too, lost her first husband, We have been married 15 yrs. now. So that decision has to lay within the family, Not us readers. Follow your mind. Good Luck

I think maybe you should have thought to ask your grandfather about his wishes before his mind stated to fade. That away he could have told you what he would want done. Secondly the mind/memory fading away is part of getting older it just affected people differently and at different levels.

It is the Lord's timing, we don't understand why those ill sometimes linger. My grandmother was 95 when she passed and even in her senility she was a witness for Christ, she suffered greatly in her last days, but others were affected in a positive way. God always has his reasons that we usually can't see.

It's all right to want your grandpa's suffering to end just don't do anything to make this happen.

when the quality of life is no longer where one can enjoy it no matter what the age or reason in my personal opinion their duty and agenda on this plane of existence is over and it is time to move on to the next plane.

God has created us, so v cant instruct God instead of askin Him to do wat u wan ,ask him wat he wans frm u. In everyday prayer just Commit ur Grnd pa in His loving arms He knows How to take care of His children. sometimes things dat happen in our life r not happening for us but to bring difference in someone else's life. So just ask God WAT he wans to teach u thru this n learn n Take care of ur granpa. God Bless U.
