Lovebirds, Kakarikis, Budgies,Cockatiels and Quails (get rid of unwanted spiders, fly etc)

All mine get on great in my big aviary. Preening each other.

Earlier I saw a male budgie preening a male lovebird for ages. He loved it.

NOT Canaries the budgies will attack and kill them.

Although I would NOT recommend this- it's worked for me....I have a female nanday conure and male budgie together and they don't mind each other. The budgie is so much more nimble (his wings aren't clipped) than my conure (is clipped), and they stay clear of each other really, and just co-exist peacefully. It's obvious that the nanday has the say so though. It's important to mention that they were both very young when placed together (6 months) and also they are not confined inside their cage- the cage is always open and they can climb out on to the play pen anytime (even onto the floor and walk around which the budgie sometimes does, then goes back). It's a large cage and actually the budge can fit right through the bars whenever he wants to (and he does have his little preffered enterence and exit points). If they were in tight quarters, I'm sure the budgie would have a stressful life having to keep away from very close proximaty to the conure. They've been together around 2 years now.

I would not mix species in a cage no matter how large. However a large aviary is a different matter. Canaries might do well with them . If you intend to breed them though, keep one species per aviary as budgies can be aggressive enough to kill other birds when they are breeding.
Whatever you do, do NOT put lovebirds in with them. Don't put lovebirds in with any other species of bird as they are highly aggressive, even to one another sometimes and are fully capable of inflicting terrible damage and even death.

Lovebirds should not be kept with any other bird, I have had them bite the legs off finches and seriously mame budgies.

Grass parrots in the neophema (burk, scarlot chested etc)species are good to keep, as are cockatiels, kakarakis, diamond doves, larger finches and canaries

I would never recommend placing Lovebirds in with Budgies they are very aggressive and may hurt or kill other birds. In our Aviary we had 1 female Lovebird escape from her cage and before I had found her she had killed my female Quaker and Sun Conure they both were on eggs.
I would stick with just placing them with Tiels or maybe Parrolets. I also do not recommend placing them in with soft beak birds such as Finches or Canaries.

I have had quails, budgies and cockatiels all together and they were fine. Except for the fact that the cockatiels attacked the quail hatchlings. But budgies and quails are fine together, we have them like that for years and years. Good luck with your aviary!

All birds are alright, just make sure they don't fight. Mine usually keep to themselves ( / their own kind).
