And what specifically are the problems?

As I live in Tucson, Arizona, illegal immigration is problematic. Two years ago, it was put on the ballot that you provide proof of citizenship to VOTE....??? It passed, then went to court to decide if it was 'constitutional'. It feels like the liberals are trying to take the rights away from citizens and give them to the illegal immigrants. This year there are quite a few Propositions on the ballot regarding illegals. One is to make English the official language of Arizona. Each state has to set their own laws regarding this issue and not wait for the Federal Government to do it. Every state has the responsibility and the right to take care of it's people.

Big problems here they keep their lawn much better than mine their children speak 2 languages(my 2 eldest sons failed Spanish) when they BBQ on Sunday the aroma makes me hungry oh and get this they had a birthday party for a 8 year old this summer sent their son over to ask my son how many children where here (my wife and i have 6) so he came back with 6 slices of cake for them so the problem is they are making us USA citizens look foolish or should i say we are doing a good job at that without their help

There is not ONE state in the US including Alaska that doesn't have an illegal drain on the school systems. This alone costs the taxpayers BILLIONS of dollars a year. That is just the school systems. Add on strain on entitlement programs and the problem even gets worse.

And you ask what has been done about it.... what until our government listens to us.

Amnesty will NOT work!!! Read your history books!!

they are causing problems all over our country - either directly or indirectly! In my community, one local "charity" hospital is talking about closing because of free health care to illegals..they cannot afford to treat lower income Americans..80% of the births in 2005 at this hospital were illegals, the schools are being over-run with non-English speaking children, much of the funding is going to ESL classes taking resources from legal children - basically the same thing that is happening all over the country.
I emailed the mayor about all the crime by illegals - he was adamantly opposed to enforcing the law saying it was the federal governments problem not the cities - typical pass the buck!

We are having a crime problem with them. When the woman who helps them tells us only 4 out of 2000 are legal you know illegals are causing a problem. There has been more robberies committed by Hispanics lately. They are not doing anything about it. We even had an illegal steal the US flag off of the town square and burn it there.

I live in Arizona,THE worst state for illegals crosssing into the country!!!!!

1The CRIME rate has INCREASED!!!!

2.Identity theft has INCREASED big time!!!

3.Hospitals are CLOSING because the ILLEGALS all run over here for treatment,or to drop their kids, and NEVER pay their bills!!!!!!

4. Our state is going BROKE because of the DRAIN on our social services from all the ILLEGALS that are here!!!!

5.It is costing the taxpayers MILLIONS of dollars to clean up the FILTH left behind by the ILLEGALS!!!!! This INCLUDES clothing, drug paraphenalia, empty water bottles. shitty diapers, etc, etc!!!!!

6.Illegals are a DRAIN on our school system!!!! Taxpayers pick up the tab for the hiring of spanish speaking t.a.'s and for teachers to teach English, as a second language (for all the ILLEGALS kids that only speak spanish!!) This TAKES AWAY money meant to teach OUR kids!!!!!

7.It is UNSAFE to even drive on the streets here because of the ILLEGALS!!!
ONE: they don't have licenses OR insurance!!!!

TWO: they don't UNDERSTAND our road signs!!!!

THREE: There have been SEVERAL times that ILLEGALS
have put everyone else AT RISK, because of them driving like MANIACS to overtake some other bunch of coyotes to "steal' the ILLEGALS that they are transporting!!! (SEVERAL people have been killed, because of the coyotes trying to ESCAPE from law enforcement!!!)
AND,then there's the SHOOTINGS of two rival gangs of coyotes!!! MY son,was almost caught right in the middle of one!!!!!
Four people were KILLED because of this!!!

8. Gang activity has INCREASED here also!!!! Personally, i think all these little PUNKASS JERKS who belong to gangs, should be SHOT ON SIGHT!!!!!

no problems here......but we do have some white folks that are giving us some problems. So, what do you think should be done with them? People who ask questions like this maybe should be on the 100th floor and the date is 9/11. the reason i say this be thank full.......you have been blessed to be born in this great country. Some have not been as blessed as you. Does that mean you have a right to put your self above them????? God.....LOVES All! Do you think he died for only YOU??

Unfortunately, yes it has. The specific problems are identity theft, uninsured motorists, too many people living in one home (fire hazards) we had a horrible fire where 15 immigrants died, unsolved crime, they commit then disappear with a new identity, welfare problems, the children going to the schools that were unexpected (class size over populated), I really don't know what the city has planned to do about it, it's really hard to keep track of.

The problems are the UNINTENDED CONSEQUENCES both of allowing migration, and in forclosing it. There has been no real debate on the subject. Until now, the lack of serious controls on hiring and no controls on starting a business, and the lack of identity cards and registration of domicile (that exists, voluntarily, in LA and FL) means: (1) identity fraud is easy and (2) undocumented aliens have a free ride.

But US agricultural subsidies and NAFTA have flooded Mexico with cheap corn and have wiped out Mexican farmers with no place to go but north. http://groups.google.com/group/alt.lawyers/browse_frm/thread/03e5f534620bbb4e/fd4ca12a16d5016a#fd4ca12a16d5016a

For better or worse. Better because it makes for cheap labor in agriculture and meatpacking and construction, among others. Worse because it drives down wages for all unskilled workers, and it dilutes the existing "culture".

yea a ton, hospitals are being shut down because illegals aren't paying there bills, more tax money is going to schools to pay for spanish speaking teachers and spanish materials, my friend was applying for a job and the wait room was full of mexicans filling out applications, they refused to hand him one (i'm assuming because he would of asked for a decent wage) oh yea the driving down wages too,
oh yea and in my hometown mall the security guards have to watch them for loitering the mall because they like to hangout on the second floor balconies and look down the white girls shirts, (there not aloud to do that anymore) when i was around 13-14 the men started hitting on me ( and i look way younger then i am) my mom almost beat the crap out of this one guy, hmm....what else, oh yea, they follow me around in stores thats always fun... one time this one kept bumping into me (like 4 times) just to touch me so i finally turned and pushed him to the ground and yelled "get away from me you little bastard!" so yea i'm not fond of them or what seems to be the perverted culture, you might be able to treat women like that in mexico but NOT here in America!
