we've been friends for a year and a half but i don't want to ruin that how can i look for signs? please help me

Well - if you are friends then you should be able to ask him yourself. I don't really understand why you would want to be miserable and not communicate to him. You can always make new friends - but if someone is very special and you let them get away because you are afraid - think of what you have lost. If he has been your friend for a year and a half then that fact alone is enough to say he likes you enough to at least talk to you about it.
What kind of a relationship will you have if you get to shy to talk to him about things? You are dooming this to failure before you even start if that is how you are going to be.

If he pays attention to u in a sensual way, like looking into your eyes why u guys are talking. He wants to be with u and only u all the time.

Invite him for the evening tea or ask him to join you for some sort of exhibition / concert / , if he agrees to come with you , its the time to express your feelings after spending considerable time together , if he decline your invitation to join you , you must relax and do not take it on your heart without feeling guilty . being a friend and you like him .get it through your married friend and see his pulse about you .behave if ok for him talk o him as though you r unaware.A ftr knowing ,then you can decide .
