Water (filtered or bottled). There are no antibiotics (as can sometimes be found in cow's milk), no fat, no sugars and is essential to body function.

Want something more substantial? Soy milk.

Well since kids hardly eat anything substantial during the (school) day I start their (weekday) off with a Carnation Instant Breakfast smoothie a couple of times a week. I add a banana and strawberry to it. At least I know they got a good shot of vitamins for the morning. You can use soy milk instead of dairy milk but kids often don't go for that but if they do, that's good too.

Do start the day off with a nice bottle of water. Your body needs the hydration and especially your brain and other organs to function properly. That's one of the main reasons people get headaches. You should also have a wee shot of OJ. You don't need much to get your daily dose but I will sometimes pack it in their lunch. Not that sweet fake crap but real OJ or apple juice.

I suppose it would depend on the health of the person drinking the beverage. You cant go wrong with water.
