People who do not understand what they are will tell you that nothing awaits you after death because they mistakenly see consciousness as being dependent on the brain and body.

It is not and this can be proved rather easily.

After death you simply stop seeing yourself as a body, no more no less. The idea that you are this body that you seem to be is only a trick of perception and focus. Once freed of the lens that perception enforces one sees the truth about who they actually are.

At this point the options are limitless because your true creative power is finally understood.

Simply put you can be or do anything that you can imagine..

Most people in all the world believe there is some sort of "life" after death, whether in Heaven or reincarnation.

I would like to think that a person's spirit or soul would go back to where it came from, which would be Heaven with the Lord.

Most religions agree there is life after death. In fact death of this mortal body is only a temporary phase in the journey of soul to obtain "Mukti" or liberation. The life after death is according to our deeds over the past many births and the present one. One can't get away with bad deeds as also the good ones. That is how the inequalities of life i.e.the affluent and poor, the healthy and the sick, suffering, the happy and disturbed can be explained.

try checking out near death experience on this one. i read some parts of a book by some very well educated people who researched the whole question scientifically. found it very interesting, cant think of the title but im sure sites like amazon have many titles under this topic.
also isnt there a law that says energy cant be created or destroyed only reshaped - to me that suggests that everything isnt so final.

if theres infinite time (i dont know if there is) and probability then surely theres alot of possibilities and things dont just end for us in this lifetime.

Much the same as you did on earth unless you are enlightened enough to ascend to the higher heavens in which case words couldn't describe what anyone experiences. There is nothing in human experience that comes close to it so I've been told, but it's apparenttly a sort of spiritual oneness with the entire universe and immersion in the total love of God.

Decomposition but in a way, you're really going back to the earth and giving life in that way...technically, that is. I

Anyone holding onto an after life hasn't grown-up from Santa nor the Easter Bunny nor their security blanket. Face reality, you just die. And for goodness sake, how lame would it be to worship any god for eternity? The Christian version of god must have an ultra ego, I mean can you imagine standing around singing joyfully for ETERNITY "Holy, Holy, Holy is our God Almighty"? Somebody, shoot me now!

Adam and Eve were never given the option of going to heaven. Their choice was either to obey God and live eternally on a paradise earth or to disobey him and die. Sadly, they chose disobedience and therefore returned to the "dust" of the ground. (Genesis 2:16, 17; 3:2-5, 19) It was never God's purpose for the human family in general to die and to populate heaven via the grave. God created myriads of angels to live in heaven; these spirit creatures are not humans who are deceased and who have been resurrected to life in heaven.—Psalm 104:1, 4; Daniel 7:10.
The righteous themselves will possess the earth, and they will reside forever upon it."—Psalm 37:29

What must we do to receive the blessing of living forever in Paradise on earth? A first step is to study God's Word, the Holy Bible. "This means everlasting life," Jesus said in prayer, "their taking in knowledge of you, the only true God, and of the one whom you sent forth, Jesus Christ."—John 17:3.

Putting that knowledge into practice is another step to everlasting happiness in Paradise. (James 1:22-24) Those who live by God's Word have the prospect of seeing with their own eyes the fulfillment of such thrilling prophecies as the one recorded at Isaiah 11:9, which says: "They [humankind] will not do any harm or cause any ruin in all my holy mountain; because the earth will certainly be filled with the knowledge of Jehovah as the waters are covering the very sea."

If you believe the Bible-It states that it has not even entered intro the heart of man, what has been prepared for him in eternity. I suppose that means that we have no idea. The Bible says there will be neither male nor female in heaven. As far as sitting on a cloud and playing a harp for eternity, that is the idea of men. This is a leap of faith and No, I don't understand it but I firmly believe there is God and I do believe in Heaven and Hell

I don't believe there is life after death. I believe its the same as before we was born. No heaven and no hell. I know I will be put in a casket and buried in the ground and my body will decompose. ( Of course my organs will be donated before all that)
