No, (s)he will just end up spilling half of it all over the carpet when they're carrying it across the kitchen and you'll end up either having to train them to clean the carpet, or clean it yourself.

Or (s)he will carry it with his/her thumb in it and you don't want a three year old's thumb in your tea, you've no idea where it has been

And s(he)'ll lick your biscuits before handing them to you.

All in all it's too much hassle, get yourself a monkey butler instead they're far more reliable.

yes it would be a great idea.

your child can then spill boiling hot water all over itself thus requiring emergency treatment. having leanrt about how the human body reacts to high temperatures it can then have a lesson in what an ambulance does and what paramedics do. when it arrives at the hospital you can tell it all about why we need hospitals and what doctors and nurses do. after your child has had bandages put all over its arms and has spent 7 hours in surgery having facial reconstruction to fix some of its scars, the other scars of which will be there for life, your child will not only know all about the perils of making a cup of tea but will also have a great insight into the medical profession.

a great lesson i think all for the sake of a cuppa.

Are your joking?

I absolutely would not suggest any children under 12 to handle hot water or tea pot or kettle, even I think that they are strong enough! Accident may cause serious injury.

You may train your three year old to have good tea manner by using paper cups and cold water or ice-tea. If you really want an option.

All people should taught how to cook and be creative in the kitchen at as earlier an age as possible to make them understand about good healthly nutrition and also essential cooking skills that will ensure that they don't eat rubbish pre-packed food later on in life.

I don't necessarily think that leaving your kid to do it on their own would be such a good idea but I'm sure most parents are careful enough to make sure that their children are adequatly supervised so that no injuries are caused.

3 year olds can microwave a decent cup of tea -- a stove top cup of tea might be a bit much

My daughter and I have been enjoying tea together since she was 2. She is 19 now and still asks me to make her tea. She knows how to do it herself as well and will make it for me. It's a little tradition between mom and daughter. I'm sure you have enough sense to know how to be safe.
