I am going to Key West in a couple of days from 7:30 am to 2 pm (cruise excursion). What should I do for fun?

Take the Conch Train tour of the island.
Visit the Aquarium - less than a block from the cruise dock.
Have a drink at Sloppy Joe's and Captain Tony's, where Hemingway and his cronies used to hang out.
There are some cute shops and unique bars and restaurants to visit and some real characters to see going up and down Duval Street.
If you're a Jimmy Buffett fan, visit the original Margaritaville.
The ship will also have some shore excursions for water sports, fishing, etc., but Key West is not that big and you can see everything I've listed by walking from the cruise ship.

Explore the history of the area.... cehck out the Train station museum.
Did you know that Key West was developed because it was the closest US point, on water, to the Panama canal when they built the canal. That there was no road down the Key - just a railroad, that it is the closest point in the US to Cuba and Earnest Hemminway lived there. Also, at one point they decalared spearation from the US and became the Conch Republic?
You can walk or rent a little electric powered car.
Very interesting little town. Have fun. PS: Food is great too.

Make sure you go to the southernmost point and get your picture taken there. Wahoo!

I was not very impressed with Key West any of the times I have been there~ cruise or driving. There really aren't any good close beaches, just lots of shopping. Make sure you wear a lot of sunscreen.

Have fun!

Parasailing, I heard it only costs $35. We paid $75 at Cococay. Also, there are some nice museums like Mel Fisher's treasure museum. I think it costs $11.
