What is so unique about the father-daughter relatioship?

That is the wonderful basis for a wonderful relationship between a father and daughter. A father goes back to his childhood, while dealing with his daughter. He sees the mother in his daughter. The girl child finds the future son in his father. Perhaps, the father was the son of the daughter in the previous birth, to apply the theory of rebirth.

Maybe bcoz opposites attract but as time passes n they grow, daughters tend to be friends with their mothers also n this goes well as long as the mom takes the daughter as a friend n does no cross match all her acts.... n of course say its for her own good that she is doing so... which r more mom's words than dad's

I honestly don't know, but I agree it probably has to do with the opposites attract or maybe more to do with the mom and daughter are too much alike they clash so they aren't as close. Also dad's are suckers for little girls when they want something. Perhapps b/c they are the provider, they view their sons as future providers and their daughters as needed to be cared for.

I don't understand that. Everyone says it's true, but I'm much closer to my mother than my father and always have been. My sister and my dad have such a close and special relationship. I wish I could have the same kind of relationship with him.

In psychology it is the electra complex; where there will come a time for daughters to be closer to their fathers. The opposite is oedipus complex where sons are closer to their mothers.

daughters are too close to their dad, its true.
Can u tell me anywhere in this world 2 women worked/lived closer for long time..... no ...maximum 1 hr is the limit... Its quiet natural.....

hey that reminds me of my Future Parents-in-Law Tom and Chris Cosgrove because they are very nice and wonderful also my Girlfriend Miranda Cosgrove has such a great family relationship with her Parents but mostly her father since fathers are closer to there daughters and my Future Father-in-Law Tom Cosgrove is very great and wonderful with me and i remember that time Disneyland Parade

I don't find that true in my family. I have 3 girls and they share things with me that they don't won't dad to know. Dad is an easy touch for the extra cash though. So guess its just who is needed at the specific minute.

Because dads get the pocket,and mom will lecture on limits as she know what ladies do every where,and in the same way dads lecture to boys as they know whats all in boy life
