Do you think it is difficult to figure out how to use this spell checker on here for so many people?

I see so much terrible spelling on this board it is terrible and annoying don't you agree?

Most people are in a hurry while they are typing and are too lazy to take the time to A) type correctly B) Use proper grammer and C)spell check before they send it. This is what is wrong with the world today.

I rarely use mine because it rejects real words. I use medical terminology and proper names a lot and it constantly tries to correct them. Some people's spelling is so bad that the spell checker wouldn't recognize the word anyway. I try not to judge people based on their spelling but sometimes it's hard. I have several dyslexic family members and many friends for whom English is a third or fourth language but they manage to spell the names of what is important to them. I have a very hard time believing anyone who can't spell their occupation or the name of their "hero".

Its not so much spelling errors that get to me (remembering that people from the UK and Australia spell words differently to the US) but also there are typos and that's fine as long as the message gets across - the thing that gets to me is when people type all their words abbreviated eg... wat du u wnt me 2 du etc this drives me mad - I'm worried about our future generations ability to spell - with text messages and chat people are abbreviating everything!

Why does poor spelling really matter? Shouldn't be a problem if you can figure out what they are trying to get across. Why worry about perfection on-line?
