I doubt it! All these sites and dating agencies are about money and know that with the law of averages some people will connect. You are much better of meeting people in your daily life. How can you tell on the internet, for example, those cute little personality traits that you can SEE in person

I think so, yes. I've met some lovely people on dating sites, and had a couple of long term relationships. A friend of mine met and married someone from a dating site she was on. If you don't meet the 'one' for you, at least you will make some new friends. Having said that, there are alot of time wasters on these sites also (and the odd one or two 'strange' people). Nothing ventured, nothing gained

It works in the sense that it works as a way of introducing you to people to date, but whether the success rate of relationships initiated through internet dating is higher than those that are not is debatible. I have meet pleasant girls through it - and friendships have followed, even relationships.

I,m sure it works for some people, I,ve had a few bad experiences with internet dating all I can say is be careful of who you meet and trust. I,m still hoping that someone is out there for me.

It's no more or less likely to work than meeting people any other way- why not give it a try? Just see it as a way to have some random nights out with people you'd never have met otherwise, whether you find love or not, it's all good fun as long as you take the necessary precautions!

My best mate just married a girl he met on the internet. They dated for two years and decided to tie the knot. I think they are really well suited and that he always chose partners wrong for him in the past. They are now expecting their first child.

Ive met pervs on the internet as in real sickos but lately i met a guy on the net and we almost fell in love. He seemed ideal but when he sent his pictures, i was beginning to be skeptical. Then we set up a day to meet and i was in shock. The guy was short, had a funny shape of head, large terrifying moles on his face and his dress sense was 2%. I literally fled.

So it all depends cuz i know of someone who met his wife through the net. To avoid any scary situations, use a webcam.

Cant say Ive ever tried it but yeah I think it would do if you have a strong enough connection with someone - if I met a guy that really turned my head I wouldnt be against giving it a go.
Theres way too many happy couples out there that met through this way so I guess it has to really!

Yes.

Meeting people in bars/pubs etc is fraught with issues.
You don't know if they're single, what their interests are, if they want a relationship or if you even get on.
By going to a dating stite, you're removing all the variables. You know they're single, you know they want a relationship and you can see if you share interests.
By winking or smiling at someone, you can start to find out whether you are interested or not.
I found it worked for me :o)
