HE says he has been tempted by those glossy adds for ladys at the back of magazines, he assures me he has never resorted to these kind of dirty tactics before and I really wish to dissuade him from resorting to that kind of behaviour......

HOW CAN I STOP HIM.....?????

If he's lost his confidence, maybe a pro *can* help him.

I personally wouldn't, but if its in his nature you can't really stop him. Just make sure you're around to pick up the pieces, otherwise he'll just go ahead and do it behind your back without you knowing.

Take him on a night out, get him drunk and get him to try and pull the old fashioned way. Teach him the 'half past two, you'll do' rule and tell him to forget the adverts, cos that's just desperation! There'll be plenty of women wanting a one night stand at the end of the night

He needs to go out to a club. Go to one with a reputation for being a cattle market and then he has guilt free, and a cheap (price of a few drinks and a taxi) sex on tap! All he would need is the confidence to ask for it.
Although going out and looking for an easy girl is kind of just as immoral as seeing a prostitute.

he's a man and feeling sorry for himself, he is expecting a woman to sort this out for him, tell him to get off his backside and get into the real world and go looking for his woman like most guys do, pubs, clubs, meetings etc, girls on backs of magazines are just a sha* nothing lasting so this won't help his long term problem.

It sounds like your friend seems to have a confidence problem. He needs to keep his chin up and get out there to meet people and start relationships that way.

your "friend" shouldnt be ashamed because he doesnt have a girlfriend!
he should be bloody relieved!! i'm told quite often that we( women in general) are more trouble than we're worth!!
instead of trying to get a girl friend, your "friend" should try to get some female friends to practice his corny chat up lines on!! lol

"want to come see my sheep?" always works with me!!! lol xxx

We all have "friends" like that... If he is so desperate for some action he should use a personals site for adults (e.g. adultfriendfinder.com) to find a partner...
