Your ship will soon be going to Teheran since US will declare a war against Iran for its irresponsible nuclear arms build-up.

You are already in the succeeding minority, when you have shown so much interest in knowing about the tests that you'll need to pass, Daniel! It is very good you have stopped smoking, though its withdrawal effects will be felt by you even after a year!
Eat a lot of fruits and Veggies, NOT meats, for all meals. Drink 12 glasses of clean water daily.
If you are really a health -watcher, eat 20 gms of NUTRILITE Protein powder every day.
As a retired naval commander with 25 years service, I should tell you that you have to be physically, mentally, and spiritually in good shape.
P.T = Physical Training, where you will be first trained to get into shape and later tested in your physical fitness.
As a safe bet, run 8 kms (5 miles) in 30 minutes, swim 100 meters in 2 mins , do a minimum of 10 bend-stretches, 10 sit-ups, and three chin-ups on the beam.
Daily read up the newspapers on current affairs and general knowledge.
After you join, take an interest in the classes, ask LOTS of questions about whatever is being taught! Seamanship involves practical things like learning knots & hitches with ropes, boatwork, signalling, gunnery & Torpedo drills, etc.
Show interest, and you may get promoted FAST (perhaps in 2-3 years) to become an officer of your USN!
Good luck, and God-speed!

To start off, congrats.. it's a big step to take, you have honor to serve with a bright outlook so don't worry... you'll be OK
For you info, I was a recruiter (NC) for over 10 years. I recruited many poeple that became very successful in the Navy. But I have also recruited many that are back home as bootcamp drops.
I see that you have enlisted in the SN program. Two words of advice,
Bust your *** in bootcamp.. You need to get advance. At least one paygrade (E-2).... You need to look at making E-3 ASAP. It's no fun being NON-PO Make E-3 and study for your exams
Second.... You are schedule to ship out in Nov.... Why so late for a SN... Have you recruiter check your line scores to see if you qualify for any "A" school. If at all possible, try an get an A SCHOOL. this allows more advance ops before reporting to the fleet.
and last.... Recruit your friends... or anyone thats in your area....
This is the quickest way to make grade.... 2 peps=E-2 4Peps=E-3.. come on, you know cats that aint doing **** wit their lives.. Sign them up!!!
Good Luck, Shipmate. I did my time, now it's your turn

when i went into navy boot camp i was a walking cluster fu*k. i couldnt swim, was out of shape, couldnt do anything right. i made it through allright but got set back once and spent an extra week in boot camp. pushups and setups were easy but the 1.5 mile run kind of sucked. i believe everyone entering is considered seaman recruit. good luck!

Actually the test is a joke compared to other branches of the military. 1.5 mile run, just do as many situps/pushups in 3 minutes as you can. Even drunk I used to pass it in record times.
