Yes, and no.

Almost all important doctrine is completely agreed upon between Catholic Christians and other Christians.

Here is the joint declaration of justification by Catholics (1999), Lutherans (1999), and Methodists (2006):

By grace alone, in faith in Christ's saving work and not because of any merit on our part, we are accepted by God and receive the Holy Spirit, who renews our hearts while equipping us and calling us to good works.

There are many minor doctrine issues and some major cultural traditional differences which, I believe, do not matter that much.

A Catholic worships and follows Christ in the tradition of Catholicism which, among other things, recognizes that Christ made Peter the leader of His new Church and Pope Benedict XVI is Peter's direct successor.

With love in Christ.

Roman Catholic and Christians are not same. Roman Catholic is formed after to the conversion of Constantine emperor to Christianity.
He declared the religion of his empire as Christianity.
All his officers, his army etc converted to Christianity without being converted in mind. Once the roman religions worshiped pagans and all these pagans were carried in to this Roman Christianity.
Pope was ordained as the chief of roman Christianity and named as the representative of Christ.
They do pray to dead people like Mary (the woman gave birth to Jesus), Joseph, Many saints.
Pope takes the authority to redeem ones sin.
Though they claim they follow the tradition of Apostle Peter and Paul, their actions are like day and night compared with the actions of Apostles of Jesus Christ found in the Book of Acts of Apostles.
The roman Catholic believers obey what Pope says. They don't consider the Holy Bible more than Pope.

Christians believe in the Word of God they don't worship or pray to dead people.
They believe all church is being built by God. They do not consider any human as the representative of God or Christ.
they don't see Pope or any Bishops greater than the words of God.

the have the same base to their faith -- the love and adoration of Jesus Christ - knoing that He was the Son og God, born of the virgin Mary, died on the Cross & Rose from the dead -- all to save me - a sinner.
the Rcc just does things in the old school manner and in the traditions from the beginning of Christianity. St Paul points out in his second letter to the Thess – stand firm & hold to the traditions which you were taught by us, either by word of mouth or letter. Here are some scriptures to check out 2 Thess 2:15, 1 Cor 11:2, 2 Thess 3:6, 2 Tim 1:13-14 & 2:2.

not exactly christians means followers of Christ. whereas the Roman Catholic follow the virgin Mary and deem the pope as Holy whereas Christians know he is a sinner like everyone else.

No. A Christian, as defined by the Bible, is someone who :
1.) has repented of their sins (that is, realize how serious their sins are, and it is put into their mind to change their ways)
2.) has asked God, through Jesus Christ, to forgive them of their sins
3.) is born again (that is, become indwelled with the Holy Spirit)
4.) verbally proclaim that Jesus Christ is your Lord and Savior
5.) recognizes that Jesus died for their sins, and was resurrected in the flesh on the third day
6.) recognizes that salvation is a gift from God (that is, His grace is given to us), not something that can be earned or bought
7.) Strives as much as possible to love God with all their heart, mind, and strength, as well as loving their neighbor as they love themselves
8.) Strives as much as possible to follow Jesus' walk and His commandments
9.) Is baptized when they are fully prepared to dedicate the rest of their life to Christ (that is, immersed under water, to represent a 'burial of the old self', and a 'resurrection of the new self').

A Christian can be of any denomination.

However, there are some key flaws in Catholicism that are contradictory to what the Bible describes salvation to be :
1.) They ask their priest for forgiveness, who in turn, asks God, through Jesus Christ, to forgive them. (Note : there is generally nothing wrong with having someone else to act in an intercessory manner... however, asking forgiveness for the sake of salvation needs to be a personal thing between the individual and God)
2.) I rarely hear of Catholics describing themselves as being born again (I would appriciate it if a Catholic would prove me wrong on this point)
3.) believes salvation is given as a reward for good deeds, as opposed to the Biblical model that good deeds come as a result of the status of being saved
4.) baptize babies (note : no baby is capable of understanding what it means to follow Christ. No child is capable of rebelling against their parents belief. Hence, the purpose of baptism is completely negated here, as there is no outward sign of the inward decision to follow Jesus).
5.) Believe *only* Catholics are saved, and everyone else is hellbound (not true - "Now this I say, that every one of you saith, I am of Paul; and I of Apollos; and I of Cephas; and I of Christ. Is Christ divided? was Paul crucified for you? or were ye baptized in the name of Paul?"" 1 Cor 1:12-13 although there is regrettably division, this division does not negate a person's salvation. There are Christians amongst ALL denominations... but that does not mean all people within all denominations are indeed Christian).

The Catholic Church enjoys the fullness of all God's truth. Protestant groups accept only part of it.
