Integrated safe transport system.

Integrated by activly promoting car sharing and taxi sgaring bicycle lanes priority to pedestrians regular buses 24x7 etc.

Each of these need to be as safe as possible.

CCTV on all buses + conductor
Cab drivers properly registered and licensed ( no insurance or registration = jail sentance no excuse)
Buses 24 x7 it may sound like a loss leader but increasingly people own cars because public transport is not there and is not safe.

Tax breaks for car shares this could be simply done by using a mobile phone and passnumbers for each occupant on each journey.

If you get people talking to eachother you breakdown boundries if you get people travelling together you create relationships.

Good community is about talking and building relationships

I'd like to encourage people to be more caring, compassionate and to respect themselves and others. Also to be more tolerant of others differences, whether ethnic, religious, political or differences in lifestyle. While I am by no means a conservative in any sense I'd like to encourage more of the old-fashioned spirit of community which seemed to exist before the rise of consumer society.

Whilst such changes may sound a bit New Ageist and would take a long time to achieve I think the benefits would be incalculable both in the material and the spiritual sense. All our communities have problems of one kind or another and throwing money at the problems doesn't seem to work. Maybe it's time to try another approach.

Build a swimming pool as i live near the river and then we could teach our kids to swim there before venturing into the river. Our local swimming pool is 25 miles away and it's a bummer to get tot when you can't drive and when there are only 2 buses a day.

I'd like to get rid of the corner shops that sell alcohol to young kids. And I'd like to make a kid-friendly place, where children are welcomed and encouraged. With security. A place for kids to hang out in the warmth. Under a watchful eye.
I'd like to ban chewing gum. I'd like the police to be more visible. And to have more powers to impound kids who misbehave.
I'd like to see the return of the park keepers.
And I'd like a bypass - the traffic is horrible.
I'd love to see buildings that are good looking, not horrible 60's style.

Knock it down and start again but send most the people packing that live here. If anyone's ever been to West Brom they'll know why!
