first husband took me to a waterfall and proposed there.
second husband proposed in the pub while very drunk (if you can call someone saying to you "when are we getting hitched?" a proposal.
Both husbands cheated on me, I married too young in the first case and the wrong person in the second.
My ideal proposal would be at breakfast, champagne and danish pastries, just something simple and from the heart.

He proposed to me on Xmas Eve after we had a party and everyone left. He poured a glass of champage for each of us and said we should open one Xmas gift each. I gave him his cologne set and he gave me a small box and when I opened it there was the most beautiful white gold diamond ring which he had had designed. Then he got down on one knee and proposed and we cried and drank the champagne. Im getting maried in 2 weeks time, cant wait!

We went on vacation to the mountains for our 3 year dating anniversary. We rented a log cabin with a jacuzzi, fireplace, the works. The night of our anniversary he turns off all the lights and lights the fireplace and also places candles all the way around. He made us a pallet in the floor with blankets and pillows and had brought a c.d. player with our song playing in it. He sat me down in the middle and told me how much he loved me and how he thought I was the most amazing person he'd ever met. He gave me a long kiss and when I opened my eyes he way on one knee with the ring in his hand! Of course I cried and said yes and we were married two weeks ago! P.S. He had asked for my parents permission before we left too and he spent 3 months planning and looking for the perfect ring for me that he picked all by himself!

I had been working away in India for a month, when I got back he took me to Paris and proposed in our hotel room as he was so nervous. Probably best as he was crying too.
We have been married for a month and together for four years.

I was proposed to on a busy street corner. It was rush hour and the middle of summer and he did it really loud, down on one knee so everyone knew what was going on. There was applause and hoots and honks ... I was really embarassed at the time, but thinking back on it I think it was really neat :) Too bad I had to turn him down ...

I was just getting in from work and I was taking my shoes off. When I turned to look at thim he was down on one knee with the ring box in his hand and a tear in his eye. Neither of us said anything I just got down next to him and held him while I cried tears of joy. Then, he put the most beautiful ring on my hand. Now it's 1 year later and we are geting married in 6 weeks!!!

If some young man tells me that he can think of a hundred reasons (and lists some of them !) as to why he does not deserve me, and concludes that the only ONE reason why he dared propose to me is that he LOVES and RESPECTS me - oh my, that'll be the day when I say 'Yes !'

We were riding on his motorcycle through town and he took me down to the marina, which is where we had our first kiss (also after a motorcycle ride). We were looking out over the water and we saw some dolphins, a whole pod of them. (Not that he could have planned that...). Well then he pulled a box out of his saddlebags, got on his knee and asked me to marry him!
