well just ask urself "do u have better option other than medicin for a career to choose" do think for other options n compare with medicine.
Can u be a hardworking person n put all effort needed to be a doc?
n yes can u give that much time to ur career as this profesion wud ask?
these r just basic questions to ask while there can be some specific too,
just think of basics n decide,

How smart are you? My daughter was #1 in her High School graduating class and she started at college with a major in pre-med, but you are told by the professors right away that you have to make perfect grades if you plan on getting into medical school. Each year there are thousands of applications and only a few hundred are accepted, so only those with absolutely perfect 100+ grades are going to be accepted. The very first test in molecular biology, my daughter made a 95 and she had studied for days, 24 hrs a day, and she decided right then and there that she did not have what it would take to get into medical school, so she changed her major to health and now she has a doctorate in psycology and practices family counseling. It takes great dedication and a focus on nothing else to get the grades required for medical school, so decide if you are ready to make that commitment.....Good luck.

Unless you have worked in the health care profession, there isn't anyway to be sure! Who knows what is like to be a brain surgeon except another brain surgeon?

I went purely on instinct and am glad of my decision but many doctors aren't.
