$20-$30ish in a decent hostel ie-clean, good security, lockers in rooms. could be cheaper in others but you're going to be sacrificing something - depends what's important to you, budget or staying in a hostel that doesn't look like it harbours various rodents, fungi and who knows what other lifeforms!!! :-)

An average hostel or backpacker hostel could cost between AUD$15-20 per night for a share bunk room or AUD $25-40 per night for double room (room on your own... you may find some cheaper especially if your pay for 3 nights and get one free.... check out some sites on aussie backpackers on google.. good luck..

have fun and be safe !

About $25 dollars. Shop around some places are way better than others for the same price.

about 25 Australian Dollars, but get recommendations! Some places are reasonably feral!

As per usual though it is more costly in the bigger cities.

After seeing that movie "Hostel", I would think twice about staying in anything like that in any foreign country. LOL!
