Why is it that when you get into a relationship it's good 6mos- 1yr and then after that.. all the attention, love affection you got from that individual it all seems to seep away? How do you keep the flame going from start to end? What do do after you've told this person several times that you need more attention and they give it for a good 2 weeks and go back to not calling for like 3 days or more? Is that reason for ending a relationship?

That is the way our species works.

Attraction is not meant to last forever, merely long enough to create a child, and for the guy to stick around until it is a few months old.

So it lasts 6 months - 1 year if there is not kid, and up to 2 or 3 years if there is.

Lifelong monogamy is not something our brains are wired for.

That is not a reason for ending a good relationship. Maybe if both of u have a short break for 2/3 weeks from each other , it will rekindle the old fire.

I ever heard of this theory or sth on a radio program not long ago:some research says that one is in love for sth like 6 months and then all the bad points of the partner appear is because one is "forced" to only see the good points of that person because of sth related to Obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD).So that means, the person kinda like forces himself/herself to be blind and only think of the other person's good things. This sounds compelling for me.What do you think?
