I finally did get her some new ones, but it seemed like an unnecessary expense. Also, why do women want to use a clothes drier when you can hang in basement or outside at much less expense.

Because she has no sense. She probably loves to shop and maybe never had a job in her life and does not know what it is to work for things.
I know someone who is this way. She will spend until the last dime is gone then cry to her dad that she doesnt have the money to buy groceries for her little children.
What a crock!
I have been haning clothes out on the line since my welfare days in government housing. I had 2 little kids and lived in a low income apt complex. A neighbors clothes line caught my eye and I asked her if I could borrow it. It saved me $1.25 a load to dry which was about $12.50 weekly. I lived on $330 a month, so it was quite a bit of savings. She was an old lady who understood and had about 6 lines across the back of her yard and my son was a bed wetter, so she saved my day.
Your question sounds almost like a joke, but thanks anyways for bringing back an old memory. .

Ha ha ha... are you not familiar if a new thing is wonderful than a absolute old one? Now it is your wife who noticed it. Which do you prepare your wife is considering, a new appliances or finding new hubby? It is better, I think , she consider a new appliances rather than she will tell you next time that she wants a new lover which I know you'l will not happy to heard..
You know females are mostly moody, their minds are not stick for longer period. Some times they think irrational and illogical no matter how difficult life today is...

women get bored easy with the same surroundings, you must well, get more involved with her life in ways that will satisfy her, so she is not tempted to do other things of change...
