Yes it works but to make it work you have to go through the other 6 steps. When you have cleared all six and do meditation as the 7th step you can heal also. It is not easy.It requires years and years of disciplined life.

listen. and notice the constant use of satan as a tool or fear tactic to ensnare u into christianity. from the last time i checked medition is peace of mind and its an oasis of freedom from a horrible busy schedule. now i know hundreds of people who meditate to calm and relieve stress, and some of them even feel god pulsating within them. i meditate all the time at least once a day, mostly in hot showers where my mind becomes tranquil. now hey!! watch out i might have a demon inside of me! wow how pathetic can u get. it seems like satan is looming everywhere even in the "GOOD" things.
between all the people that i kno that meditate agree that it helps improve their lives, they feel more peaceful and some even claim to have more vitality during the day. its up to u, i think u should FIND out about it, instead of listening to idiots telling u that demons are in every single frikin crevice in this earth.

Work for what? What you want? Healing sicknesses? Healing everything? No.
It helps ppl who want to be strong enough to accept things around in this life and become more powerful to avoid pessimism. It requires years to acheive the levels.

Psalms:19:14: Let the words of my mouth, and the meditation of my heart, be acceptable in thy sight, O LORD, my strength, and my redeemer.
Psalms:49:3: My mouth shall speak of wisdom; and the meditation of my heart shall be of understanding.
Psalms:104:34: My meditation of him shall be sweet: I will be glad in the LORD.
Psalms:119:97: O how love I thy law! it is my meditation all the day.

On what you want to meditate and what does "working" mean for you?
The ultimate meditation is the meditation on the Supreme Personality of Godhead. In this age it is recommended to meditate on Supreme Personality of Godhead by chanting His holy names:
Hare Krishna, Hare Krishna, Krishna Krishna, Hare Hare
Hare Rama, Hare Rama, Rama Rama, Hare Hare
Meditation on Supreme Lord can give you anything. However, the most intelligent thing is to meditate on Him with desire to awaken your pure love for Him which is there dormant in your heart. Once awakened, this love will liberate you from millions of years entanglement in this material world and give you unlimited, eternal bliss.

It depends on what you mean by "work". It calms your emotions and sharpens your focus. It can help you to learn to live in the moment but I have never heard of it performing miracles of healing or anything like that.
