It was a disappointment. We asked the baker to decorate it with a Chinese character since my wife had lived in China for awhile, and Maple leaves since I am from Canada. We assumed everyone knew what Maple leaves looked like, but they ended looking more like cannabis leaves!

My first wedding cake was white with three tiers but it was actually fake and made of cardboard that had been iced. This was a cheaper option and we pretended to cut the "cake" and then pieces of traditional fruit cake were passed around. I have never heard of anyone else having a cardboard cake. My mother and I laugh about it to this day.
The wedding cake for my upcoming wedding in 2 weeks is three tiered chocolate with mousse inside. The edges of the tiers are scalloped and the whole thing will be decorated with white roses.

I continue to get compliments on my wedding cake, 7 years later! It was HUGE, 4-5 tiers, and fed 300 people! It was a bubble cake, with bubbles cascading down from the top to the bottom. They were really irridecent ornaments of different sizes, but they looked real. I found it in a very old Martha Steward Weddings magazine (98 or 97).

Mine was three tiered layers, in white buttercream, white cake. It was completely topped by yellow buttercream roses.
My daughters was also three tiered layers, white cake with strawberry filling between. Her icing was also white buttercream, and it was topped by a Celtic china heart. I had a grooms cake made in chocolate with chocolate icing, with a big red Superman symbol and the words SUPER GROOM.
Frankly any wedding cake can be beautiful but if it tastes awful, people will talk about that for years. Make sure it tastes good.

We had 3 cakes! 2 grooms cakes which were just regular chocolate sheet cakes with white frosting and sage color accents around the edges. they also had silk sunflowers around the deges. The actual wedding cake was 3 circle layers with a lighted fountain and small silk sunflowers stuck to the sides. It was topped off with a precious moments cake topper that matched our invitations.

My first wedding cake was white with yellow and blue decorations, it was a tier of fruit, a tier of sponge and a tier of chocolate cake.
My second wedding was two 2 round fruit tiers from Marks and Spencer.
If I got married again a stack of cupcakes would be great.

I had a Christmas wedding, so my cake looked like Christmas gifts stacked on top each other. It was three tiers of butter cream, lemon and cheesecake filling. My hubby's cake was frosty the snowman and it was red velvet with cream cheese and pecans!!

Mine is 3 layers of white cake with raspberry filling. White buttercream frosting with blue and white flowers on it. We found our cake topper last weekend at the Hallmark store. It is a bride and groom mouse inside a teacup! So cute! 6 weeks to go!

My husband made our wedding cake - he is a pastry chef with 15 years experience. It was 5 tier, a white buttercream scalloped design with handmade fondant blush roses and grapes and vines. Inside, the flavor was chocolate mousse. It was simply gorgeous, delicious, and something we will always remember.

i had a smaller cake. it was 3 tiers but it didn't have those pillar things that make cakes 20 ft tall. simple white was the main color and then it had small daisies all around it. my flowers were mainly daisies so it was cute...i had a bow on the top tier
