Sorry, but your first clue should have been that they wanted you to send them money first to get your $500. Many people fall for this kind of scam and since they are only asking for a small amount, they not only get your money, they now have your bank account numbers (credit card) and any other information you gave them. These scams come in all kinds of ways, to get you to give them money, etc.
Call your bank and tell them that you have given you card # to what you believe to be a scam and to cancel it and have them send you a new card. You may have to close that bank account also if you find unauthorized withdrawls. Pay close attention. DON'T EVER SEND MONEY TO ANYONE THAT YOU DON'T KNOW! Even if you think they are legit. I would also contact Yahoo, to inform them that this scam is taking place.

Umm yeah, they are definitely trying to scam you, or maybe begging you to sign up for "Gold Games Club" only to see a ton of disclaimers and eventually never winning the money. Like sometimes I get these random emails from someone like "Mr. Agradusha" telling me that I had inherited 13 million dollars into my account because someone of high authority in Africa had just passed away. Do they think I'm dumb?

You just have been scammed, why should yahoo use e-gold, if yahoo have yahoo wallet instead.

Actually is just common sense.

Lots of frauds happen like that, when you win a price they dont ask you to pay something, they deduct from the price.

Sounds like a scam!

If Yahoo was giving away money, don't you think everyone on Yahoo! would know about it. Yahoo would have it posted everywhere.

Contact Yahoo! and ask.

I think thats a bogus. As far as i know yahoo does not have any such schemes. Lately we all are getting such a scrap mails not only it says that its from yahoo but also from citibank, paypal so on. So dont get trapped into this.

Of course it's a scam. Legitimate prizes don't require you to pay to get your money.

You were scammed. You don't have to pay to get a prize in legitimate contests or lotteries.
