Firstly, read the histories - and I don't mean the one's written for and approved by the Imams and Ayatollahs.
second, look at what happened as a result of people following his teachings.
In Spain and Western Europe, the Almohades forced conversion or death on hundreds of thousands of Jews and Christians. Both groups could survive in mohommedan countries by payment of crippling taxes but, they were always kept down as second class citizens. Their word was never considered against the word of a mohommedan, they were required to wear silly clothing in order to identify themselves (the origin of the yellow badges the SS forced German Jews to wear). If a jew and a mohommedan were passing in the street, the Jew was legally required to give way and stand in the road etc.

Some peaceful regime.

Ultimately YES. Don't forget Islam was created to unify a group of loose tribes in the middle east that were pagans and constantly at war. The religion brought with it the rule of law, courts, a federal government of sorts, and Peace and Safety. Suddenly the people living in those parts of the world could travel and trade without getting robbed or killed. That was something unimaginable since the decline of the Roman Empire hundreds of years before. When you read religious text you should always keep in mind when it was written and what use it would have had economically and politically at that time. Islam ended the constant tribal wars, it did bring peace and its only requirement is to agree to accept it and the rules it has for getting along.
The actual name for the religion Islam means peace, so the conversion demand was to accept peace, a peace treaty and those who did not accept were to be attacked by all others until they did. I wish the UN could do what they did then today.

You heard???
Of course Prophet Muhammed (Peace be upon Him) was a peaceful man.
He had the BEST character of all mankind!
He fought wars of DEFENCE, not OFFENCE!
Perhaps you should be careful of what you believe.

particularly Mohammad (peace be upon him) did no longer kill maximum of folk. yet back then, the Pagans killed maximum of of his followers, tortured them, made mockery of them, humilited them, imprisoned them, and slaughtered them. He replaced right into a stable guy, he secure his followers or perhaps secure the Jews & Christians and allowed them to stay in peace below Islamic rule.

He was a peaceful man. But not in the Godly way but the Satanic way.

2 Corinthians 11:

13 For such are false apostles, deceitful workers, transforming themselves into the apostles of Christ.

14 And no marvel; for Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light.

15 Therefore it is no great thing if his ministers also be transformed as the ministers of righteousness; whose end shall be according to their works.

Actually, if you look at what Islam says about him, he invited neighboring countries to Islam, one of which that I remember was ethiopia, since it gave refuge to Muslims seeking protection from persecution. The three major wars that occured in the prophet's liftime werer mainly provoked by the Mekkan tribes who did not want Islam to spread since they'd lose money gained from pilgrims visiting the then-pagan Ka'abah. He is said to have stood passive and even stopped his followers from attacking those who attacked him. His lifestyle was meant to be an example to all humanity. It just takes a bit of research, both on the part of Muslim and non-Muslim.

Islam is a message for the salvation of humanity. It is to save not to destroy people. Islam is not terrorism. It is not for self revenge. It is not hate, it is love. Law of Islam is based on The Holy Quran and Sunnah. It is not what others do. There is a strict code of Law even in wars. Those Muslims who commit crimes against the teachings of Prophet Muhammad (s.a.w.) have to face Allah T'ala one day and answer to the Almighty. We all do! There is a Day of Judgment for all mankind! Let us be true followers of Prophet Muhammad (s.a.w.)

Muhammad is the best sample for muslims.
Islam is a complete guidance in life. the most important aspect in islam is justice. we are forbidden to attack people who offer peace.
In Islam, there is guidance for peace condition and for war condition.
even if islamic army conquered any land, they are ordered to treat people there with justice, and give them their rights. and, there is no compulsion in religion...it means, we must not force anyone to embrace islam.if muslims did against that, it's not because of islam's teaching, but that their mistakes as human being.
Remember, christians with their 3G(gold, glory, gospel) concepts in their aggression in the past..and they treated native people very badly.
and remember atheists with their mass murder because they dont appreaciate human's life.
