You have to learn how to "free yourself" of negative attitudes. Then only positive attitudes will remain.

I found out the hard way. Today, I live on 8 1/2 acres, and have a workshop with lots of tools, a dog, etc. However, it wasn't always this way. I remember waking up on a riverbank in Reno alone, homeless, having nowhere to go and nobody to call, at 2am, freezing cold, and wondering "what the hell happened?"
Why? Because I lost track of what's important. Hopefully, you'll never have to reach that point to learn what I have. Having been there, I can tell you that a "routine" can be a good thing. At least you know where you'll go when it's dinner time, and where you'll sleep when you get tired, and where you'll wash your clothes, and take a shower, and who you'll be able to call or visit.
Sure, sometimes life can seem routine, but there are good points to it. Make the best of it, and take some of the suggestions from the other answers here (I saw some good ones). Get involved in something. Join a bowling league, or start going to baseball games, or whatever. Get out with other people.
Whatever you do, just don't lose the basic "routine" because that is where your security is. That is the peace of knowing where you will spend the night, and other such things. Be glad you have that part, while you spend some time finding things to do.

Years ago I found that if I scheduled several completely new activities (going to a ballet practice at a local university just to see the practice - couldn't afford to attend a live performance at that time - or taking a bus to a local destination I hadn't been to before and having coffee at an outdoor restaurant, etc.) each week, that definitely took me out of the doldrums and introduced me to a lot of new people and new ideas. I don't think any day should be routine...you can be in charge of that. If your days are "routine," I think you need to brighten things up with something new routinely. Make that a habit and you'll see that "routine" disappears, and you're a much happier and more interesting person to all sorts of people!

When everyday seems routine, you need to have the following:
1. A Dream / Aspiration - Split this into 3-4 sessions. (a)5 years later, what/where do you want to be. (b) 10 years later ..and so on.
2.The sojourn of your life must be in search of the question "why am i born in the place where i am born..why not in iraq, why not in ethiopia, uganda, afghanistan." what difference can i make to another human being(atleast one person..whether it can be a simple advice, or even just offering your shoulder)
3.Constantly realise that your life is much better than atleast 100 million people...think...it is really much much better than what you envisaged...yes?
4. Constantly affirm yourself..that Tough Times Never Last..Tough People Do (suggest you to read this book by Dr.Robert H Schuller...its a popular book.not costly as well)
Cheers

Break up the routine. Find a different way to go to work/school. Eat lunch in a different location, if you bring, buy for a change. There are many opportunities to inject some creativity into your day and to change up your routine. Just try something new.

Get a vice. It doesn't have to be an addiction, so maybe vice is not the right word. But, something that you look forward to every day. Meditation can help you overall--give you peace of mind. I don't do it myself but so many people tell me it works and I want to learn how cuz I always look at the negative side to things before the positive.

Have a goal in sight. Something to look forward to, then living for today will make more sense. Save up for a holiday or something.

with your past experience take decesion on your current issues...
keep watch on the consequences.........the feedback will train you for the mistakes.........this will leave you with the habit that what to do / how to do.
try to stand with your decesions.....this may be correct / wrong...accept that and remember not to repete again, learn to admit .
by practiceing this in for some time called chintan you may start getting in towards +ive ..............
mind it your decesion have to be unbiossed.
