I just read about animal communicators for the first time (reading the book "Animals and the Afterlife" due to the loss my dog)
Can you really communicate with animals? How can I become one?

How lovely it would be if we could still see or talk to our beloved old friends!! I do believe in their special intuition, and that they see things we don't.
But no, I don't think we can communicate with those who are gone, except to say "I love you, old friend, hope you are finally well again." LET them go, they need the peace, to be away from the pain and old age and diseases that made their lives difficult. They can't be at peace if their human is still pining for them.
Do they come back again, perhaps as a puppy, for another chance? I don't know, but I have friends who believe their two distinctive dogs killed in an accident have returned in the guise of two pups, to have one more chance. And those pups are eerily like the other two.
But since you do have such empathy for animals, though, why not practice doing this with the ones here on earth? There are so many shelters who need volunteers and temporary foster homes for animals.
I firmly believe that kindness and a calm approach can accomplish miracles. We never spank, hit, pop or discipline our animals with physical means, and we have had a LOT of animals here at our shelter. Most of our animals were throw-aways, abused and some have physical problems, like slow-learners, deaf, cross-eyed, missing legs, missing tails....oh, the list goes on and on :-)
We do everything with tone of voice or non-threatening gestures, and I bet you would be good at that.
It sounds like you are still grieving for your beloved dog. That is certainly natural, and I'm sorry that you're still in such pain. But I feel the answer for you is to do good things for animals in memory of your pet, not seek to keep your pet's spirit earthbound.

There are going to be fakes in any 'psychic' container, yet there are the authentic ones too. You can understand what anilmals feelings are at that time but you can't talk in there langauge.I pretended to do that and then my cat became evil and his eye were red and he mad a BIG scratch against my belly and no it didn't crack open.

there is a woman here in maryland who claims to speak to animals... i went to one of her parties and she had a full conversation with a boxer puppy... it did "tell" her about pet birds the hostess had (which were at the neighbors house at the time). i don't know man. hahaah

if you love any animal they will communicate withyou my ratt terrier will say i love u and mama just be youself and talk to them the same as a person
