I am plannning camping in this month with my family, my kids and wife but I heve never camped in the united states and have no idea about it. As first try of camping, I am plannning to camp in or near orange county, CA.
I want to my kids have experience of bonfire, having melty marshmallow and good talk around fire.
Is there any good place to camp around OC, where is safe and good place?
Thank you

The only place in OC that I can think of (and I was born and raised here) is Huntington Beach. But you are basically parking in the parking lot and you can use the beach for bonefires.
I would recommend going to Angeles National Forest, Big Bear, or Lake Elsinore. All these places are approximately 1 1/2 hours away from the city.
