But of course! This from the network that brought us the ultra-liberal "Book of Daniel" (which bombed) that had a dysfunctional (what else!) "christian" family, with the Dad as a minister, a gay son, and a bi sister-in-law. (Kind of like a twisted 7th Heaven.)
They also brought us Katie Couric, who insinuated that biblical teachings on homosexuality incited the 1998 murder of Matthew Shepard, then they refused to apologize.
Next, let's not forget this network unapologetically brought us "Will & Grace."
Finally, when Tom Brokaw was still the anchor for the NBC Nightly News, he did an opening segment, showing a clip from a Tampa church, where the pastor was speaking about Muhammad. With an image of Pastor Vines displayed in the background, Brokaw called the segment: "Preaching hate. When words from the pulpit sound like words of war. American versus American."
Yeah...I am not at all surprised that NBC wants to gut the Christian message from Veggie Tales. After all, to not do so would be considered by them "intolerant."

I hadn't heard this. I did hear that Veggie Tales is going to be on NBC and got a bit excited since I enjoy watching them (even seen Jonah the movie). I'm not a Christian, but I enjoy the offbeat humor of Veggie Tales as well as the universal lessons it teaches children about loving one another, respecting people, being honest, sharing, appreciating the differences and diversity of people, and a lot of lessons that I think we as adults often forget (just look at how badly we treat each other for proof). I've seen other cartoons, nonChristian, that also do the same thing. It's just funnier with the talking veggies and the Christian stories/myths are beautiful just like the Hindu, Jewish, Baha'i, Islamic, Sikh, Buddhist, Taoist, Shinto, Pagan, etc, etc, etc, etc, etc stories are. I love it when a simple story can hold so much meaning (and then when writers and animaters can then add some humor to it).
My niece (whose 2 1/2) enjoys watching Veggie Tales (although only because I bought her the videos...she only watches the Disney Channel...all she likes on TV...so highly unlikely she'll watch it on NBC anyways). Still, I thought it was neat that it was going to be on TV at all. I'm sure the creators of Veggie Tales are excited!
As for offensive....I've learned that what I might think is offensive others might not and what I don't find offensive other people do. The reality is that unless one truly understands the deeper meanings behind what someone is saying, doing, etc then chances are that someone, somewhere is going to offended just because the message/symbolism/concept/idea got lost in translation. Religion is definately one key area since it, of course, is very highly symbolic (in that it uses lots and lots of symbolism to express it's concepts, ideas, and messages).
Peace be with you.

This is in part that Veggie Tales directly targets children with religious propaganda. Children at the age of Veggie Tales' target audience do not have the capacity to make their own decisions regarding religion. I have a feeling that the producers of that show know this too. Sure, it's O.K. if your child is a christian, but what about the parents of a different religion? Do you think that Islamic or atheist parents would want their children to be propagated by another religion? I think not. Would you feel alright if, say, there was an Islamic cartoon that taught about Mohamed to pre-school aged children. What if your children were to watch that?
To reply to splinter:
Q: Where is our freedom of religion?
A: In church!

Almost by definition, if it's a "Christian" cartoon, then its intention is indoctrination so yes, it should be stopped. Religion is fine for consenting, informed adults but to feed it to children is along the same lines as giving them hard core porn.
However, this prog is obviously a US creation. In Britain, the better educated children wouldn't waste their time with cartoons. The rest don't matter anyway. The thick are always with us - but nobody takes any notice of them, simply because they're thick!

Noone rather cares what atheists do & we fairly wouldnt call down fireplace from heaven. God is totally waiting to handle atheists whilst he's waiting. reason atheists are actually not probable going against christians. they are going against God. Christians proceed to worship God & do what they understand they'd desire to do, no count what atheist rant. each and every physique have their very own circulate to undergo & their very own possibilities to make. whilst additionally they understand that additionally they'd desire to undergo the outcomes & common jobs of the thoughts they make.

I think Veggie Tales is very wholesome. I do not see why they want to remove it. If parents don't want their children to watch it they should pay closer attention to their kids and monitor their television time.

If it is a Christian production why not lobby TBN to air it?
EDIT: Why would I get a thumbs down for suggesting a show get aired on a network that you KNOW will not censor it? How did that offend anyone? People are crazy.

I agree, veggie tales are clearly the work of the devil...and Madonna has every right to mock a false god.
