Maybe he thinks he IS God. More likely, he just never thought about God needing an invitation, like when I forgot to invite my mother to my wedding. Maybe he's scared of what God would say. I'd be a little hesitant about inviting God to speak. I don't feel that i have anything to hide but I'd really feel awkward if God told me to lay off the chocolate and lose 100 pounds. Most pastors will invite God to speak to the congregation's hearts. It's a nice trick of God's to be able to speak to each person in the voice he or she will listen to.

Maybe it's a matter of not seeing the forest for the trees? If the pastor leads the congregation in prayer, then he is inviting God. If the pastor doesn't lead the congregaton in prayer, you should make a request for a specific prayer that invokes the presence of God..

That would be an excellent question to pose to the experts he has invited. Perhaps he is hoping that by inviting several experts, one of them will have a message which will resonate with you and you will find God. And that is his way of inviting God.

I'm gonna guess......because the Pastor knows the truth about God? (at least his/her version).
The bible obviously has it's reason for having existed for so many years, and regardless of the editing or revising...the book holds it's own sense of truth to this day. A church is not going to be able to decide that it can invent a God and convince 100% of the people that it's invention is truth.
All people have a mind of their own....God....gave us freedom of thought! :)

Christ commissioned His people in local new testament churches to preach the Gospel not Himself.

intriguing. maybe the man's God isn't big enough. And though the pastor doesn't invite God to speak, does that mean that God won't?

If pastors or preachers ever allow congregations to discover that they can hear God or Jesus directly, without their intervention, they will all be out of their jobs.

Apparently, God can hear you from a church at all times, not anywhere else.
Humm...I wonder why, since it wasnt God who chose where to build it so it really doesn't make sense.
Eitther he hears you everywhere or he hear you no where!
