Good question. Love somehow finds all of us eventually. So you cannot hide from it. If you find love and it was not that perfect destination of love that you were meant to get, love will keep on searching you until it finds you. You will also know when you have reached that destination.

If the destination involved ending up with someone like you then I would say yes you would without a doubt reach your destination.

I think there are many destinations, but it isn't the destination, it is the journey that counts. It is meeting many to find what you want. It is enjoying that feeling you get from a new boyfriendor girlfriend. That pitter patter of your heart. It is finally meeting that special person you want to be with for a long long time. Instead of worrying about the destination, slow down and enjoy the journey

I feel most of the answers above are misguided. Love is never about reaching at all, like Stephani said. And if it is about reaching your love and make him or her love you back equally, it is conditional and therefore it's not love, it's only business.
Love is more about sacrifice and pursuing to fulfill the loved one's happiness than your own. If you do this, then you have loved. Anyone in this day and age can have a person to love, but can anyone give up a person for that person's happiness, even if he or she doesn't love you? That is very rare, and that is what love really is.
Love is never about "we will be together and live happily ever after" because this is a very shallow statement. For love to exist, three things are very important: affection, trust, and sacrifice. We all have affection or passion for our "loved" ones, but do we really trust them without doubt, and are we willing to sacrifice everything, even our life, for our love?
When all these feelings are strong and enduring, that is when love happens.
