Well if you're looking for websites here are a few that I recommend (since I enjoy studying religions)
BBC's Religion & Ethics Page
http://www.bbc.co.uk/religion
Religious Tolerance
http://www.religioustolerance.org
Sacred Texts Online
http://www.sacred-texts.com
Beliefnet
http://www.beliefnet.com
it even includes a Belief-O-Matic test to see which religions most match your views/beliefs based on a series of questions
If you want books I can recommend "The Complete Idiot's Guide" series. They don't do all the religions: Hinduism, Catholicism, Buddhism, Christianity, Islam, Wicca, Paganism and I think that's all, but there could be more. But they are written really well and easy to understand and it prepares you for reading other books on the various religions.
The individual websites of the various religious groups can also be helpful. Christian denominations always have websites about their specific denomination. Other religious groups will require more effort, but trust me there are websites dedicated to the various religions out there (About.com has some great information and links on various religions). Yahoo (I'm not sure about now since they've changed their layout, but before the changes) in their Religion & Spirituality section then under Specific Faiths and Traditions if you then clicked on the various names of the religion it would open up to more options and there were tons of websites that were also very informative!!
And of course it can always be a good idea to look up places of worship, study groups, etc in your area.
Synagogues, temples, mosques, gurdwaras, mandirs, satsangs, sanghas, centers, and so on. There are directories on the internet that list all these so just type in for example:
directory of all Hindu temples in USA
and you'll get one of the many webpages that will provide you with the directory. Or Jain Temple, or Sikh gurdwaras, or Mosques, or Synagogues, to Mandirs, or Satsangs, or Sanghas (sanga), or Samghas (samga), or Zen Centers, etc, etc, etc. (most Christian denominations will have their directory themselves...so does the Unitarian-Universalists and Unity Church on their respective webpages).
Happy searching!
Peace be with you.

there is lot of adjustments between vedic and modern-day hinduism. Vedic faith became into based on the vedas which contains the rituals to diverse gods like indra, varuna, agni and so on that are all organic forces. The perfect god interior the vedas did not have any call or sort. there have been no temples. Vedas are actually not written by potential of a unmarried individual. Vedic hymm created by potential of diverse sages (the two women and adult men) have been transmitted orally from one technology to a various. Over a volume of time a number of those hymm began getting lost. Maharshi veda vyasa then placed the hymms, puranas and different books into written sort. So he divided the only veda into 4

You could start with your local library and a book on religions in America. Take your Bible with you and look up what you learn for yourself. Read your Bible daily and ask God to guide you to the one religion that teaches the truth about him and his son. All these things will help you to know where to attend.

Go to your local community college and take a course in comparative religions, modern Paganism, and ancient mythology.
Then go down to your local Pagan store and meet some of the people who practise these beliefs (make sure and visit the various other churches, temples, Dojo-s, etc), and see who you like, who's happy, who seems insane, who would you like to be like?

Walk or drive around your neighborhood until you see a church that looks inviting. Then go in and ask some questions. Keep at it until you find the right one.
Here's a hint: Catholic.

why don't you just figure things out yourself? it doesn't make sense to me to decide on some religion and just let them tell me how things are.
