Once-a-month topical insecticides are applied to a small area on your pet's back, are probably the easiest product to use, and generally last the longest. Some kill fleas and ticks, and others just kill fleas, so check the label carefully. Ingredients generally include permethrin, pyrethrin, or fipronil. Examples include
Bio Spot, Advantage, K9 Advantix, Frontline Top Spot, Revolution, and Defend. .

Feed your dog Brewers Yest tabs every day according to bottle, so many tabs to so much dog. It'll take maybe a week or two to get into their system but fleas don't like the taste of your dogs blood with Brewers, they will jump off. Ticks will die. Also try flea fogging or bombing, such as Zodiac flea-fogger kit. 3 cans for $15 or so. Follow up with regular baths and grooming, possibly even some spot-on flea treatment, again, such as Zodiac. Please stay away from flea collars, they do not work well. A friend of mine actually had a cat die from flea collar poisioning. Good luck.

Also for any pup or kitten under 8 weeks use any citrus detergent or shampoo. They will not hurt your pet. They are mild on our skin and so it will be with thiers.
