First of all, is he married? Does he have kids? Is he divorced? Those are the things you take into consideration above all. If he's still a bachelor at 34, then nothing's wrong with it for as long as you "connect" with each other. He might like different things since he's in his 30s now, like being indoors or just staying at home while you on the other hand might like going out and partying. Those are the problems in age gaps.

I was 19 when i met my husband, who was 33. So the age thing doesn't bother me at all.
But the teacher-student thing is totally wrong because it brings an element of control and power into the relationship which makes it inherently abusive.
He could lose his profession and his reputation if you pursue this; if you care about him, don't do that to him.
Even though you are over 18, it would be viewed very negatively by his peers, bosses and the 'system' and you would be viewed as a victim.
Don't put yourself in the position of being a victim.

If you are no longer in school and he is not in a relationship then I would say it's o.k. if you are still in school having a personal relationship with him could cost him his career. I would question why you are interested in someone 16 years older than you though. think about it this way do you want your boyfriend to be 50 when you are 34 or 60 when you are 44 you get the picture.

As long as your 18 it doesn't really matter. If he's still your teacher then I would say no but, if not then tell him how you feel. Age is nothing more than a number.

I don' t think he's too old for you, I' just think your too young for him, if you know what I mean. Act out if you must but I don't see it working because he's your teacher and that alone should make him feel some what difficult about dating someone your age. I myself like older guys because guys my age are really beneath me mentally and emotionally, So I really hope that you see that it's not you it's him, your too young for someone like him, he really won't know what to do with you.(good luck).

Firstly, are you still at school?
Chances are he sees you as a student and not anything else and it may be quite embarrassing to tell him.
